The Radio Rookie Award went to Yoon Tae-jin and Son Tae-jin.
On the 28th at 8:20 PM, the ‘MBC Entertainment Awards’ took place at the new MBC headquarters in Sangam-dong, Mapo-gu, Seoul. The event was hosted by Jeon Hyun-moo, Yoon Eun-hye, and Lee Jang-woo.
On this day, the Radio Rookie Award was presented to Yoon Tae-jin from ‘Yoon Tae-jin’s FM Date’ and Son Tae-jin from ‘Son Tae-jin’s Trot Radio’.
Yoon Tae-jin expressed, “Yesterday during the live broadcast, listeners left messages saying they hoped I would win the Rookie Award, and I think they would be happy. Thank you for all the support,” and added, “FM Date was first created in 1992. It’s a program that has received a lot of love, and after five years, it has been revived, and I am now sitting in the 11th DJ seat. Our program is structured around stories and song requests without guests, so I initially felt a lot of pressure. Thanks to everyone’s help, I safely completed a year and am happy to receive this award.”
He continued, “Every time I hear that I provide comfort at the end of the day, I find it hard to believe and it feels amazing. I think this award is MBC giving me confidence in my abilities and potential as a radio DJ, and I will stop doubting myself and think about how I can bring joy to listeners for a long time.”
Yoon Tae-jin also expressed gratitude to his family, saying, “Thank you to my mom and younger sibling for always supporting me. My father passed away around mid-last year. He prayed a lot for me, and I hope he is not lonely where he is, and I am grateful for the wonderful talent he passed on to me.” Finally, he encouraged listeners, saying, “As I receive stories, I often see those who are enduring hardships. I believe that if you endure, wonderful things will come, and we will celebrate together then. So please hang in there a little longer. They say that enduring happily is called ‘Hengti-gi’. I hope you can laugh a lot while ‘Hengti-gi’ with me.”
Son Tae-jin said, “This is my first time at such an event, and I am very nervous, but I am grateful for this precious award. I stopped by ‘Hello, This is Lee Moon-sae’ in the morning, and my senior cheered me on, saying I was a fellow newcomer and rival. If you are watching, it’s thanks to you that I received this award. I think I am standing here because of many people’s support.”
Finally, he said, “It’s a burden to start a program with my name on it. I am grateful to the production team for believing in me and working with me. I feel like I receive a lot of strength through radio. When I receive messages saying I provide comfort and healing, I feel like I am learning about life as a person and that it is a great gift for me to grow as an individual. Thank you to my fans. The ‘MBC Entertainment Awards’ is an event that summarizes the entertainment, cultural, and radio programs broadcast throughout the year. Last year, MBC aired many existing popular programs such as ‘All-Seeing Companion’, ‘What Do You Do When You Play?’, ‘I Live Alone’, ‘Radio Star’, ‘Home Alone’, and ‘Thank Goodness for Rest’.
