Musical actress Jeon Ha-young has won the Best Newcomer Award.
The '9th Korea Musical Awards' was held on the evening of the 13th at the Universal Art Center in Gwangjin-gu, Seoul. Musical actor Lee Geon-myeong, who has been with the Korea Musical Awards since its inception, served as the MC, and The M.C Orchestra joined again this year.
The nominees for the 'Best Newcomer_Female' category included Park Soo-bin (The Great Comet), Solji (Hero), Yeom Hee-jin (Dear Evan Hansen), Jeon Ha-young (Jeokbyeon), and Jodiana (Bear the Musical).
Jeon Ha-young expressed, “I can’t believe it. I want to thank everyone who made it possible for me to be part of the musical ‘Jeokbyeon’ and my colleagues,” and with tears in her eyes, she added, “I thought I wouldn’t win, so I didn’t prepare anything, but I took a moment to think. I will work harder and have more fun, and I will strive to become a better actress, knowing that this award is a motivation for my growth.”
The '9th Korea Musical Awards' is a musical awards ceremony organized by the Korea Musical Association and sponsored by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Korea Arts Council. It evaluates and analyzes the trends in the musical market over the past year and selects the award winners through fair voting by a panel of experts and audience votes.
