Actor Lee Hak-joo will appear in the Coupang Play series 'Newtopia.'
'Newtopia' is based on the novel 'Influenza' by author Han Sang-woon, and it tells the story of a soldier, Jae-yoon (played by Park Jung-min), and his girlfriend, Young-joo (played by Jisoo), who run towards each other across a zombie-infested downtown Seoul.
According to SM C&C on the 9th, Lee Hak-joo will play the role of Seong Tae-sik in the series. Seong Tae-sik is a celebrity known as 'Alex' and the CEO of the game company Alex Entertainment. He is a brain with sharp situational judgment and reasoning skills, and he genuinely helps Young-joo, whom he meets by chance.
Lee Hak-joo has portrayed various characters in a wide range of genres, including dramas such as 'LTNS,' 'Lovers,' 'Criminal Records,' 'City of Deception,' 'Now that it has come to this, I will go to the Blue House,' 'My Name,' 'Private Life,' 'Late Night Snack Men and Women,' 'The World of the Married,' and 'Melody is My Nature.'
In the recently concluded drama 'Parole Officer Lee Han-shin,' he delivered an impressive performance as the villain Ji Myung-seob.
'Newtopia' will be released on February 7.
