Actor Choi Jun-yong publicly supported President Yoon Suk-yeol, following singer Kim Heung-guk and JK Kim Dong-wook.
On the 3rd, Choi Jun-yong took the stage at the 'National Rally Against President Yoon Suk-yeol's Impeachment' held in front of the Donghwa Duty-Free Shop in Jung-gu, Seoul, and said, "I wanted to come up to the stage and grab the microphone earlier, but I was shy to come up. However, I was allowed to hold the microphone."
Choi Jun-yong stated, "Everyone here must have been surprised by the sudden declaration of martial law, but I was also shocked while watching TV at home. Honestly, what surprised me more was that the martial law ended in just a few hours. I was a bit disappointed. If you experienced it, why end it so easily? To be honest, I was disappointed."
He continued, "As time passed, I think I didn't understand President Yoon Suk-yeol's great intentions. It's been about a month, and the anti-state forces that our president always talks about are popping up here and there. Just yesterday, members of the Chinese Communist Party went to the U.S. Embassy and demanded the impeachment of Yoon Suk-yeol, the leader of the insurrection. Why is the Chinese Communist Party doing such things in another country?"
He also said, "Democratic Party lawmakers ask when we talk about spies from the past, but how many spies have come out of the Korean Confederation of Trade Unions? If they are not spies, then who is a spy?" He shouted, "While there is a rally for the impeachment of the president in Hannam-dong, they say they are continuing without permission for the rally. If you hate South Korea that much, go to North Korea. You bastards."
Choi Jun-yong added, "I was down here last week and cried. How can I not come out when the president is being treated like this? Since it has come to this, I will no longer hide. I will continue to step forward, raise my voice, and lend my support."
Before Choi Jun-yong, singers Kim Heung-guk and JK Kim Dong-wook also expressed their opposition to the impeachment.
