Actors Lee Je-hoon and Yoo Yeon-seok received the Best Actor Award.

On the 5th, the '2024 MBC Acting Awards' was recorded and broadcast. The Best Actor Award in the miniseries category was awarded to Yoo Yeon-seok for 'The Call You Are Making Now' and Lee Je-hoon for 'Investigation Team Leader 1958'.

Lee Je-hoon said, “First, I would like to express my deepest condolences to the victims of the tragic incident and their families.”

He continued, “I want to thank the viewers. This is a legendary work that has been loved so much by MBC, and I was thrilled when I heard that a prequel to this work was being made. When I was offered the role of Park Young-han, played by Choi Bool-am, I was so nervous. It was an incredible honor and I felt the weight of it. Although there were many shortcomings and difficulties while working on this project, I did my best with the determination to present a precious work to the viewers.”

He expressed his gratitude, saying, “I think of the director, the writer, and the fellow actors who performed with me. I remember each and every staff member who suffered through the hot summer and the cold. I believe this will be a work that I will remember for a lifetime, as I had the honor to work on a good project.”

Lee Je-hoon added, “The biggest reason I could choose this work is because of Choi Bool-am. I hope he stays healthy. I will do my best to be an actor who does not tarnish the legacy he has shown. I hope that 2025 will be filled with even more good and happy things. Please stay healthy, everyone.”

Yoo Yeon-seok said, “I made my drama debut 16 years ago with 'General Hospital 2'. I am overwhelmed with gratitude for receiving such a great award. I want to thank the viewers and fans who have loved our drama so much.”

He continued, “At the end of the project, when I was physically exhausted and troubled, senior Han Seok-kyu visited me to say goodbye on the last day of filming. He gave me a lot of encouraging words. Just like when we were filming 'Dr. Kim', he praised me for almost an hour during a break, saying I was doing well and that I was a good actor, which gave me the strength to finish filming until the end. I want to express my gratitude to him.”

Yoo Yeon-seok also added, “It seems that December has been particularly cold and filled with heart-wrenching events. I want to send my condolences to those suffering and hope that the new year will be filled with only happy moments.”
