Comedian Park Na-rae has made a donation to support the victims of the Jeju Air passenger plane tragedy.

According to reports from Maeil Business Newspaper's Star Today, Park Na-rae delivered the donation through the local government on the 30th, urging them to provide support for the victims of the passenger plane tragedy that occurred at Muan International Airport the previous day.

Earlier, on the 29th, Park Na-rae posted a message of condolence on her social media, stating, "I pray for the souls of the deceased," along with a photo of white chrysanthemums to commemorate the victims of the accident.

Having been born in Muan, Jeollanam-do, and spent her childhood in Mokpo, it seems that she was particularly saddened by the incident that day.

Park Na-rae has consistently shown her positive influence, previously donating 10 million won to a children's hospital for Children's Day and 20 million won to Yonsei Severance Hospital on her birthday.

According to the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport, the Jeju Air passenger plane tragedy, recorded as the worst aviation accident in the country, occurred at 9:03 AM the previous day when Jeju Air flight 7C2216 from Bangkok, Thailand, collided with the outer wall of the airport runway during landing. Out of the 181 passengers on board, all but 2 crew members, a total of 179 people, lost their lives. It has been confirmed that the majority of the victims were residents of Gwangju and Jeollanam-do.

The government has designated a national mourning period until January 4 of next year.

As a result, year-end award ceremonies for terrestrial broadcasting companies, including the '2024 MBC Broadcasting Entertainment Awards,' in which Park Na-rae was scheduled to appear, have been canceled or postponed.
