The production team of ‘Mr. Trot 3’ announced that “everything has changed except for trot,” hinting at the active role of the new master, the ‘father of comedy’ Lee Kyung-kyu.
During the production presentation of TV Chosun’s ‘Mr. Trot 3’ held online on the afternoon of the 19th, Min Byung-joo CP stated, “This season has changes in the master composition and judging method, but we also wanted an external figure to stabilize the master role,” adding, “There was one person who came to mind, and that was Lee Kyung-kyu, the Conan O'Brien of Korea. After much effort, we finally managed to bring him on board.”
Kim Joo-yeon PD explained, “We divided the judging method between the contestants and the masters. The criteria for passing or failing have changed. With the introduction of the active division X, we established a new method to select new faces by only listening to their voices. We aimed to change everything except for trot,” emphasizing their efforts to differentiate from previous seasons.
Boom, who has been with the show since Season 1, expressed his anticipation, saying, “I wondered if there would be friends who could show ‘a more perfect performance,’ and there were. There were friends who exceeded that and moved me while watching. Many contestants who enjoy the stage and have star quality participated.”
He added, “Lee Kyung-kyu was so engaged that he even got up and started a physical tussle,” sharing a humorous behind-the-scenes moment, “It would be good if he had a tussle with similar people, but he kept trying to fight with Jung Dong-won.”
‘Mr. Trot 3’ will premiere on the night of the 19th at 10 PM.
