The first broadcast of ‘Mr. Trot 3’ is just 10 days away.
On Thursday, the 19th at 10 PM, TV CHOSUN will air the first episode of ‘Mr. Trot 3’. ‘Mr. Trot 3’ aims to produce the third Trot Emperor following Lim Young-woong and Ahn Sung-hoon, as it has sparked a Trot syndrome in South Korea. The production team has revealed key points to watch for in this season.
Rule Changes… Two Master Groups Evaluate More Sharply
The master audition, featuring a total of 101 Trot contestants, is the first preliminary stage of ‘Mr. Trot’, where advancement to the main round is determined by the number of hearts received from the masters. The most significant change from the previous rule, where receiving all hearts allowed direct advancement to the main round, is that the masters will be divided into two groups for evaluations. Consequently, a new rule has been added that requires contestants to receive a majority of hearts from one master group. If a contestant receives all hearts from one master group but fails to get a majority from the other, they will be eliminated immediately.
The production team stated, “As ‘Mr. Trot’ enters its third season, we have introduced this system to elevate the level of the master audition in line with the heightened expectations of viewers and to dispel any concerns about fairness.”
They added, “By comparing where the senior master group and the national master group show differing opinions, and how this affects the outcomes of the 101 participating teams, viewers will be able to enjoy ‘Mr. Trot 3’ even more.”
Blind Audition… More Thrilling Appearance of Active Division X with Concealed Faces
One of the most notable changes in ‘Mr. Trot 3’ is the introduction of Active Division X. Participants who are currently active singers and have chosen to be part of Active Division X have been assigned to this group. These participants are those who wish to break away from their existing images or challenge themselves with entirely different styles of songs, wanting to be judged solely on their singing without any biases.
Active Division X will conduct auditions in a blind format, without revealing the participants' faces or information. The identity of a participant will only be disclosed when they receive all hearts after singing behind the blind. After the first recording, the masters expressed, “We felt a thrill and emotion from the stage of Active Division X. It resulted in an incredible outcome that shattered all our preconceived notions. It was a rediscovery of the active division.”
Participants also indicated that the most shocking performance in the history of the ‘Mr. Trot’ series was from Active Division X, suggesting that an extraordinary result unfolded beyond imagination.
The production team conveyed, “Viewers will find even greater enjoyment and emotion by guessing whose voice it might be. The most shocking stage of this season will take place in Active Division X.”
