Broadcaster Park Myung-soo criticized the declaration of a state of emergency that has shaken the nation.
On the 4th, during the opening of KBS Cool FM's 'Park Myung-soo's Radio Show', which was broadcast live, he mentioned the declaration of the state of emergency the previous night.
Park Myung-soo said, “I stayed up all night. It was such an absurd situation that many people must have stayed up as well. It’s a matter that concerns the fate of the nation, so who could sleep?”
He continued, “It was so absurd that many people were asking, ‘Is there a war?’ I have a lot to say, but it’s being organized well. Everyone is working quickly to restore things, so let’s trust and wait.” He added, “I hope this never happens again.”
As Park Myung-soo mentioned, many people stayed up all night due to President Yoon Suk-yeol's declaration of a state of emergency. Listeners expressed their agreement, saying, “I couldn’t sleep at all.”
Fortunately, 155 minutes after the declaration of the state of emergency, the National Assembly passed a resolution demanding its repeal, and six hours later, on the 4th, President Yoon lifted the declaration.
As a result, broadcasting companies continued to suspend regular programming and provide news specials on the 4th, following the 3rd. Major events in the broadcasting and entertainment industry were also canceled, leading to confusion.
