Actor Lee Byung-hun shared his thoughts on becoming a 30-year veteran in the industry.
On the afternoon of the 17th, the opening ceremony of the 30th Busan International Film Festival (BIFF) was held at the Busan Cinema Center in Haeundae-gu.
Lee Byung-hun, who is the first male solo host in history, greeted the audience by saying, "The dream that started in the city of Busan 30 years ago has now become a film festival representing Asia. It’s great to see everyone here."

He continued, "Honestly, it feels good to be standing here. I debuted in 1991 and shot my first film in 1995, so this year marks my 30th year as an actor."
He added, "Only after 30 years do I feel like I finally resemble an actor. Interestingly, the Busan Film Festival started almost at the same time as I did. In fact, we have grown together. There are several memorable moments from that long journey," expressing gratitude to the audience while looking at past photos.
He then shared, "Like you, I wondered what kind of films would come out from the audience seats and if I would be able to stand on stage, and now I am able to stand on this stage. I am grateful."
In particular, Lee Byung-hun remarked, "Time has changed us a lot, but the excitement I feel in front of a film is the same now as it was then. Tonight, we will witness another beginning together," as he opened the Busan International Film Festival.
