Actor Yoo Jae-myung will appear in the new drama 'Gwaen-dang'.
According to MK Sports' coverage on the afternoon of the 21st, Yoo Jae-myung has recently confirmed his participation in the drama 'Gwaen-dang', directed by Choi Jeong-yeol of 'Vigilante'.
Set against the backdrop of Jeju, 'Gwaen-dang' is a noir genre work and is expected to be distributed by Netflix.
In the drama, Yoo Jae-myung will play the role of Yang Kwang-ik, the boss of the Jeju faction, which is a rival force to Bu Yong-nam's 'Gwaen-dang'. He is expected to share the screen with Han Seok-kyu, who plays Bu Yong-nam.
Meanwhile, Yoo Jae-myung made his debut in 1997 with the play 'Clumsy People'. He gained public recognition after appearing in the 2015 tvN drama 'Reply 1988' and has been actively involved in various works, including tvN's 'Stranger', JTBC's 'Itaewon Class', tvN's 'Vincenzo', 'Queen of Tears', the films 'Silent Voice', 'Kingmaker', 'Bikwang', the Netflix series 'Thief: The Sound of the Sword', and Disney Plus's 'Knock Off'.
He will also meet the public through Disney+'s original series 'Polaris', which will be released on September 10. In 'Polaris', he plays the role of Yoo Un-hak, the director of the National Intelligence Service, who is dedicated to maintaining tension regarding the war on the Korean Peninsula and focusing on international affairs and national security.
