Actress Kim So-hyun has proven her limitless acting spectrum through 'Good Boy'.
In episodes 9 and 10 of JTBC's weekend drama 'Good Boy' (directed by Shim Na-yeon, written by Lee Dae-il, produced by SLL, Studio & New, Drama House Studio), Kim So-hyun captured the fierce survival instinct and emotional range, dominating the home theater.
In this broadcast, Hannah truly showcased her 'fierce fighting spirit'. She aimed her gun at the villains, was thrown off by a car rushing towards her, and even secretly climbed onto the trailer of the devil (played by Lee Ho-jung), entering the lair of evil herself. Kim So-hyun firmly established her presence as a warrior with unwavering determination in her gaze and movements.
Her cleverness also shone through. When Hannah lost contact due to a broken phone, she used her shoes and socks to signal her location, demonstrating her quick thinking in a crisis. In a scene where she hid her body in the gap of a forklift box to escape danger, she vividly conveyed the character's ability to take charge of the situation. Kim So-hyun's detailed performance elevated the suspense of 'Good Boy' significantly.
Moreover, Kim So-hyun's low but firm delivery of lines and various facial expressions made the narrative of 'Good Boy' even more intriguing. While hiding in a box, Hannah caught sight of the gun in Leo's (played by Go Jun) hand and instinctively felt that he was connected to her father's death. Even when she was discovered by the Jooyoung gang, she shot a piercing look at Leo, sparking curiosity about the unresolved story between them. Later, when Yoon Dong-joo (played by Park Bo-gum) came to rescue her, the smile she gave him, despite her exhausted body, encapsulated complex emotions.
Kim So-hyun revealed her deep inner self at another turning point. When Kim Jong-hyun (played by Lee Sang-yi), who was shot in her place, woke up, she was overwhelmed with guilt and relief, shedding tears. The revelation that Jong-hyun was injured in a traffic accident while trying to protect Hannah enriched the emotional connection between Dong-joo and Jong-hyun.
Meanwhile, after the special team disbanded, Hannah was assigned to the underground archive of the Human Rights Police Agency, but she persistently pursued her father's case. Her sharp gaze of suspicion towards her superior, who ruined Leo's montage, heightened curiosity about future developments.
As the drama progresses, Kim So-hyun is excellently portraying Hannah, whose emotional range is expanding. With overflowing passion, she convincingly performs the action scenes in the drama, setting a new personal best for herself. As the tension between Hannah and Leo regarding her father's death continues to escalate, anticipation for her counterattack in 'Good Boy' is rising.
