Director Kim Byung-woo revealed the reason for casting Jisoo.
On the morning of the 17th, a production report for the movie 'The All-Seeing Reader' was held at Lotte Cinema in Konkuk University, Seoul. Attending the report were Ahn Hyo-seop, Lee Min-ho, Chae Soo-bin, Shin Seung-ho, Nana, and Director Kim Byung-woo.
Director Kim Byung-woo explained the reason for casting Jisoo as Lee Ji-hye, one of the main characters in the film, saying, "The casting criteria were clear. The first was that it was important to have someone who works hard."
Previously, Jisoo received love from viewers for her performances in works such as 'Snowdrop' and 'Utopia', but she was also embroiled in 'acting controversy' due to somewhat lacking acting skills. Regarding casting Jisoo despite such controversies, Director Kim shared, "When I first met Jisoo, her passion was strong, and she worked really hard during the reading sessions and on set."
He continued, "The amount of screen time for Lee Ji-hye in the movie is not large. However, I didn't want to miss out on someone who could capture attention, and Jisoo worked hard within that. I am very satisfied with the results."
'The All-Seeing Reader' is a fantasy action film where the world of a novel that has been serialized for over 10 years becomes reality on the day the novel is completed, and the only reader, 'Kim Reader', along with the protagonist 'Yu Joong-hyuk' and his companions, must survive in a world that has been destroyed. It is set to be released on July 23.
