Sunghoon of the group ENHYPEN has been appointed as an ambassador for the Korean Sports Council.
Today (16th), Sunghoon attended the appointment ceremony held at the Olympic Hall in Songpa-gu, Seoul, marking the beginning of his role as an ambassador. Having previously served as a member of the national figure skating reserve team before his debut, his connection to sports makes this appointment particularly meaningful.

As an ambassador, he plans to engage in activities to increase interest in the 2026 Milan-Cortina Winter Olympics, promote the importance of recreational sports through talent sharing, and convey sports policy messages.
At the appointment ceremony, Sunghoon stated, “I am honored to be able to serve as an ambassador for the Korean Sports Council. Figure skating was a turning point in my life. The spirit of challenge and focus I gained from my experience as a member of the national reserve team has become the foundation of who I am today.”

He continued, “Although the fields are different, K-pop and sports both strive for excellence at every moment, and I believe that the fans who support us share core values. I will take the lead in sharing the strength and value of our sports with more people and in promoting the charm of sports.”
Secretary General Kim Nami expressed, “As we approach the 2026 Milan-Cortina Winter Olympics, I find it meaningful to have Sunghoon, a former figure skater, as an ambassador for the Korean Sports Council. I hope he will engage in various activities to encourage more citizens to support the Winter Olympics and our national athletes.”
Meanwhile, ENHYPEN, to which Sunghoon belongs, will release their mini album 'DESIRE: UNLEASH' on the 5th of next month.
