The movie ‘Holy Night: Demon Hunters’ has topped the overall box office on its opening day, kicking off a strong box office run.
According to the integrated ticketing system, ‘Holy Night: Demon Hunters’ (hereafter ‘Holy Night’) attracted 117,042 viewers on its opening day, April 30, and recorded a cumulative audience of 121,321, easily securing the top spot at the box office.
This figure surpasses the opening scores of ‘Hitman 2’ (100,621 viewers), which attracted over 2.5 million viewers this year, as well as ‘The Match’ (91,471 viewers) and ‘Opposition’ (85,659 viewers), drawing even more attention.
‘Holy Night’ is an occult action film where the ‘Holy Night’ team, consisting of the dark problem-solver Bau (Ma Dong-seok), Sharon (Seo Hyun), and Kim-gun (Lee Da-wit), takes on a group of evil beings in a city thrown into chaos by a cult that worships evil.
‘Holy Night: Demon Hunters’ is showcasing a strong presence, breaking through the momentum of new releases like ‘Thunderbolts’ and ‘The Break’ as well as competitive films like ‘Opposition’ and ‘Minecraft Movie’. The film is drawing attention as a powerful dark horse that is set to dominate the upcoming May holiday.
Ma Dong-seok is expected to continue his box office success, following ‘The Outlaws 2’ in May 2022, ‘The Outlaws 3’ in May 2023, and ‘The Outlaws 4’ in April 2024, sweeping through the spring box office once again in the spring of 2025.
