The 'MZ wannabe icon' IVE (Ahn Yujin, Gaeul, Rei, Jang Wonyoung, Liz, Lee Seo) will headline 'Lollapalooza Berlin' this coming July.
According to an official announcement made by 'Lollapalooza Berlin' on the 19th (local time) via their official social media, IVE has proudly secured a spot in the lineup for the world-renowned music festival 'Lollapalooza Berlin', which will take place at the Olympiastadion & Olympiapark Berlin in Germany on July 12-13.
The lineup announced on that day includes global musicians such as Justin Timberlake, Gracie Abrams, and BTS's J-Hope, alongside IVE. IVE is expected to take the stage as one of the headliners, delivering a high-quality performance that will elevate the status of K-Pop.
Lollapalooza is a large-scale music festival that started in Chicago, USA, in 1991 and is held in various locations around the world, including the USA, France, Chile, and Brazil. The 'Lollapalooza Berlin' taking place in July will be held at a large venue accommodating approximately 74,000 people.
Previously, IVE was invited to 'Lollapalooza Chicago' last August, being the only K-Pop girl group to perform alongside famous international artists. Despite it being their first festival debut, they flawlessly performed 11 songs over 45 minutes with live band accompaniment, showcasing a diverse stage that captivated the audience and established them as a 'trustworthy emerging K-Pop performer' (festival performance) powerhouse.
At that time, major foreign media outlets such as 'Rolling Stone', 'Chicago Sun-Times', and 'Billboard' praised IVE as a 'global festival powerhouse', shining a spotlight on them.
Thanks to the intense interest, IVE has also announced their participation in 'Lollapalooza Paris', which will be held on July 20. Being the only K-Pop girl group to enter 'Lollapalooza' for the second time, IVE has now added the news of their participation in 'Lollapalooza Berlin', marking their third appearance at 'Lollapalooza'. IVE is the only K-Pop girl group invited to the 'Lollapalooza' stage three times.
Recently, IVE successfully wrapped up their activities for their third mini-album 'IVE EMPATHY', proving their popularity both domestically and internationally. 'IVE EMPATHY' ranked on the Billboard 'World Albums' chart, and the pre-released track 'REBEL HEART' made it onto the 'Global 200' and 'Global (excluding the US)' charts for four consecutive weeks.
Another title track, 'ATTITUDE', also achieved success by entering the Spotify 'Top Song Debut Global' chart's top 10. With these mega-hit songs that have stirred the world, expectations are rising for IVE's 'Lollapalooza' stage in Berlin and Paris this July.
Meanwhile, IVE successfully concluded the activities for their third mini-album 'IVE EMPATHY', announced on the 3rd. They achieved five consecutive million-seller records and 12 music show wins with their new release, and the pre-released track 'REBEL HEART' recorded a 'Perfect All-Kill' on domestic music charts, sparking another 'IVE syndrome'.
