Soyeon from the group (G)I-DLE praised participant Yoon Seoyoung.
The episode aired on the 16th on Mnet's ‘Unpretty Rapstar: Hip Pop Princess’ depicted the first meeting of 40 participants from Korea and Japan.
In this episode, the face-off between Korean and Japanese participants was shown. As the participants took their seats one by one, Yoon Seoyoung appeared with the keyword ‘K-Hip Top’.
Yoon Seoyoung is an active rapper who has already collaborated with famous rappers, stating, "I have been evaluated by Chanmina. Chanmina said, 'Seoyoung should be in the center position,' and I thought, 'If it's not me, then who could it be?'"
Yoon Seoyoung identified her strength as producing. She confidently said, "Someone who knows how to produce, perform on stage, make rap, rap, and sing is really different. The quality itself is truly different."
The Japanese participants were impressed after watching the pre-evaluation video of Yoon Seoyoung's cypher. However, Yoon Seoyoung laughed, saying, "I thought I should teach the Japanese participants some rap after watching their cypher. What an honorable lesson it would be."
The participant who appeared with the keyword ‘J-Hip Top’ was Yamamura Nico. Nico is recognized by various artists such as Lee Young-ji, Code Kunst, and Loco for her skills. Nico expressed her ambition, saying, "I will show real hip hop."
Following this, the self-introduction cypher continued. Before starting, the Korean participants showed confidence, while the Japanese participants sighed deeply in tension.
The cypher was conducted based on rankings. Participants ranked 6th to 9th and 2nd to 5th showcased their cyphers, while the top participants from Korea and Japan, Yoon Seoyoung and Nico, faced off.
The first to grab the mic was Nico. After Nico's cypher, MC Soyeon praised, "Nico raps so well. I have nothing to say. It was very memorable."
Yoon Seoyoung's counterattack followed. Soyeon commented on Yoon Seoyoung's cypher, "I was overwhelmed by Yoon Seoyoung. I thought, 'There are still participants who seem crazy these days.' I thought, 'She must be an entertainer.'
