Actor Jung Woong-in confessed to having lost all his assets due to being scammed by his manager.
On the 13th, during the broadcast of Channel A's 'Close Friends Documentary: Four-Person Table', Jung Woong-in invited his long-time friend, director Jang Hang-jun, and actress Song Sun-mi, with whom he acted in the movie 'Dusa Bu Ilche', to share stories.
Jung Woong-in spoke about leaving the sitcom 'Three Friends', which received immense love with a peak viewership rating of 37.8%, saying, "Even when I used the catchphrase 'I got it' on a past variety show, people passing by mistook me for a comedian," and added, "I graduated from the theater department and wanted to grow as an actor, wanting to perform genuine acting."
After reaching the peak of his popularity post-'Three Friends', he faced a setback due to meeting the wrong manager. At that time, he had bought a luxury car due to his success, but the manager took charge of the vehicle and even took out loans.
Director Jang Hang-jun stated, "(The manager at that time) ran away with all of his assets," adding, "Jung Woong-in has all the stamps, so..."
Jung Woong-in received threatening phone calls from loan sharks and had to deal with seizure notices on his house, saying, "My mother was in a panic," and shared a bittersweet story, "But since I was a famous person, they stuck the notice in a place where it wouldn't be easily seen."
He recounted going to retrieve his vehicle and kneeling down to the loan sharks, saying, "I asked them to forgive the remaining amount. It was the first time I knelt in front of such people."
He mentioned that he quickly forgot about the incident, stating, "I didn't think this would change my life in any way," and added, "I think it was because of that experience that I am where I am today."
