Singer and songwriter Lee Jae revealed that he had a complex about his voice.
On the 13th, Lee Jae appeared as a guest on KBS Cool FM's 'Lee Eun-ji's Kayo Gwangjang' (hereinafter 'Kayo Gwangjang'), where he created and performed the OST 'Golden' for the Netflix animated film 'K-Pop Demon Hunters' (hereinafter 'Kedehun').
On that day, Lee Jae talked about singing the part of Lumi, a member of Huntress in 'Kedehun', saying, "Actually, I have a complex about my voice. I sang the guide version of 'Golden', and director Maggie Kang asked me to take on the part of Lumi."
He continued, "My dream used to be to be a singer, and now I'm focusing on my dream of being a songwriter, so I was grateful for the opportunity given to me. I thought, 'Really, me?' but director Maggie Kang said, 'You have a good voice,' so I sang with confidence."
When asked if the high notes in 'Golden' were burdensome, Lee Jae replied, "Of course, there was pressure. This song itself is not a song for singers, but a song for animation. I intentionally used high notes to express Lumi's desperation. If I had made the song for singers, I wouldn't have made it this way."
Meanwhile, 'Kedehun' is a work that tells the story of the K-pop girl group Huntress defeating a boy group made up of evil spirits called Lion Boys to protect the world with their songs. The OST 'Golden' sung by Huntress has topped the US Billboard Hot 100 chart for a total of 8 weeks non-consecutively.
