JTBC's 'A Hundred Memories', entering its second act, has announced the continuation of its youthful narrative of memories that are not yet over, and has unveiled a special poster featuring Kim Da-mi, Shin Ye-eun, and Heo Nam-jun seven years later.
In the latest episode of JTBC's weekend drama 'A Hundred Memories' (written by Yang Hee-seung and Kim Bo-ram, directed by Kim Sang-ho), the brilliant friendship between two friends, Go Young-rae (played by Kim Da-mi) and Seo Jong-hee (played by Shin Ye-eun), who would sacrifice happiness and love for each other, faced a significant turning point. A strike triggered by the accident of their fellow guide, Kwon Hae-ja (played by Lee Min-ji), ended in victory, and Hae-ja received treatment costs and compensation.
However, their return to a peaceful daily life was short-lived, as Young-rae faced unjust suspicions and pressure from the labor manager (played by Park Ji-hwan) for leading the strike and allegedly embezzling funds. In a fierce confrontation with the labor manager, Jong-hee, witnessing Young-rae being choked, lost her composure and wielded a fountain pen in an attempt to protect her. The situation Jong-hee would face in the future was all too predictable. Consequently, Young-rae urged Jong-hee to run away, and Jong-hee disappeared.
Another person who was equally devastated as Young-rae, who sat on the ground in shock, was Han Jae-pil (played by Heo Nam-jun). Jong-hee, realizing too late that Young-rae, whom she cherished more than anyone, had a crush on him, chose to part ways with Jae-pil. After that, Jae-pil, who had put aside his love for boxing to focus solely on studying, eventually learned of Jong-hee's feelings. The song "Hard to Say I'm Sorry" by Chicago, which Jong-hee had requested multiple times at the music café, felt like a message asking him to hold on to her. Jae-pil rushed to Cheong-a Transportation, but once again, the timing was off. Jong-hee's disappearance, which could not escape the reversed misfortune, left deep scars on both Young-rae and Jae-pil.
Seven years later, Young-rae has become a hair designer. She exchanged glances with Jae-pil, who visited the salon, and smiled brightly. It seemed that the salon believed Jae-pil was Young-rae's boyfriend. Thus, passing the end of Act 1, the anticipation for Act 2 was heightened, revealing various curiosities.
In the meantime, the released special poster captures the three characters seven years later, drawing intense interest. Against the backdrop of bright sunshine and a blue sea, Young-rae, Jong-hee, and Jae-pil walk side by side with bright smiles, capturing a moment that still holds the light of youth. In particular, the phrase "Our story is not over yet" symbolizes the enduring connection between the three, despite numerous misunderstandings and wounds.
The actors also expressed their excitement for the upcoming Act 2. Kim Da-mi hinted, "In Act 2, you will see a more solid Young-rae. Above all, please pay attention to Young-rae's choices. While Act 1 was filled with pure emotions, Act 2 will contain more diverse and deeper feelings."
Shin Ye-eun stated, "In Act 2, Jong-hee appears in a completely different form, to the point that no one recognizes her at first glance. While Act 1 reminisced about moments of youth and healing, Act 2 will focus on complex events and emotions between characters," indicating a significant transformation. Heo Nam-jun added, "After seven years, all three have become busy adults trying to make a living, but their love and friendship are still clumsy and lacking, reflecting the love and friendship of grown-ups who have only grown in size," stimulating viewers' curiosity.
The production team stated, "With the ending of episode 6, 'A Hundred Memories' has entered Act 2. Young-rae, Jong-hee, and Jae-pil have left deep marks on each other through their choices. As Young-rae and Jae-pil continue their connection, Jong-hee, who had disappeared, returns, and their unfinished youth story begins anew. Please stay tuned to find out what happened in the past seven years and what memories the three friends will create when they meet again after seven years."
'A Hundred Memories' airs every Saturday at 10:40 PM and Sunday at 10:30 PM on JTBC.
