The KBS grand project ‘Cho Yong-pil, Forever in This Moment’ for the 80th anniversary of liberation is a solo stage presented by the legendary Cho Yong-pil, who spans all generations in South Korea, after 28 years since his last solo performance on KBS in 1997’s ‘Big Show’. The concert held on September 6 sold out in just 3 minutes, reaffirming the power of the ‘living legend’ Cho Yong-pil.
On October 3, the prequel ‘Cho Yong-pil, Forever in This Moment - Prequel’ will provide a glimpse into Cho Yong-pil's famous songs and his myth, followed by the main performance of ‘Cho Yong-pil, Forever in This Moment’ on the 6th, and a documentary capturing the preparation process and behind-the-scenes of the historic concert titled ‘Cho Yong-pil, Forever in This Moment - The Record of That Day’ on the 8th. This trilogy promises a special Chuseok holiday where the entire nation unites as ‘the king of singers’.
Among these, the teaser video for the first broadcast of the trilogy, ‘Cho Yong-pil, Forever in This Moment - Prequel’, has been released, raising interest. In the prequel, MCs Kim Ina and ‘Jannabi’ members Choi Jeong-hoon and Kim Do-hyung have gathered 12 individuals with deep connections to Cho Yong-pil to shed light on his music and legend from various angles.
Journalist Hong Seong-kyu and music critic Lim Jin-mo will appear to vividly recount the beginnings of the king of singers, Cho Yong-pil. Additionally, cultural critic Kim Young-dae and big data researcher Kim Min-seong will analyze ‘Cho Yong-pil and the literary and cultural values embedded in his music through big data’, providing a new perspective on Cho Yong-pil.
