
Actor Jo Jae-yoon revealed the reason for obtaining 12 certifications.
In the fourth episode of the TV CHOSUN entertainment show ‘My Way - Over-Immersion Club’ aired on the 24th, the daily life of actor Jo Jae-yoon, who is known for his over-immersion, and Chae Jung-an, who is seeking a healthy over-immersion life, was depicted.
On this day, Jo Jae-yoon caught attention with behind-the-scenes stories from his current popular drama ‘The Tyrant’s Chef’. Despite being a special appearance and reducing his fee, he dedicated himself to practicing Chinese, cooking, and martial arts to portray the role of the Ming Dynasty chef Tang Bai-long. His behind-the-scenes story, in which he invested a whopping three and a half months into this project, hinted at the secret to his outstanding acting.
As a ‘professional over-immersion enthusiast’, Jo Jae-yoon mentioned that he is usually immersed in obtaining certifications. He holds an impressive 12 certifications, including excavator, large trailer, boat, emergency vehicle, ship navigation, and Korean cooking technician, and is currently preparing for a helicopter pilot certification, surprising everyone.
Thanks to his Korean cooking technician certification, he was able to film a scene using a high-level knife during the shooting of ‘The Tyrant’s Chef’. He also revealed that he donated his skills during the forest fires in Goseong and Andong, which garnered admiration.

He also enjoyed healing through his certifications. Jo Jae-yoon, who visited Soyado with his close friend and fellow actor Yoon Seo-hyun, drove a boat to go fishing and cooked with the catch. In front of his close friend Yoon Seo-hyun, he candidly shared that the reason for obtaining certifications is “I see myself with fewer works,” expressing his desire to prepare for the future.
He added, “Everything is to make a living. I want to be remembered as a great dad who didn’t give up on challenges for my family,” which added to the emotional impact.
Meanwhile, ‘Nation’s First Love’ Chae Jung-an sparked curiosity by stating, “I don’t like over-immersion” before revealing his daily life. However, the daily life shown through the VCR was filled with over-immersion. From waking up in the morning to starting with acupressure, oil pulling, drinking salt water, having a Mediterranean-style breakfast, washing his face, basic skincare, taking supplements, and stretching, the actress’s routine, which took a total of 2 hours and consisted of 8 steps, astonished everyone.
Additionally, as a fashion and beauty creator, he referred to his YouTube channel as a ‘hobby’ but actively searched for an office in Hannam-dong for filming. Chae Jung-an revealed, “I always thought I didn’t have anything I liked, but my friends said, ‘You seem serious about YouTube. You look happy these days,’” admitting that he is actually over-immersed in creating his content. He then realized that ‘over-immersion’ is an energy that gives vitality to life and vowed to continue showing a healthy over-immersion life.
