Actor Lee Dong-gun (45) has been diagnosed with a rare disease that affects 1% of the population.
In the preview for the next week’s episode of the SBS variety show ‘My Ugly Duckling’ (hereafter ‘My Ugly Duckling’), Lee Dong-gun was seen visiting a hospital.
In the video released that day, Lee Dong-gun visited the hospital with bright red eyes. He complained to the doctor, “It definitely occurs once a month. There have been one or two times when I felt it was painful. I felt like something was stabbing me under my trapezius muscle. Even just breathing feels like being stabbed.”
After hearing Lee Dong-gun's words, the doctor diagnosed, “This is not normal. Based on the current symptoms, it is a rare disease that 1% of the population in our country suffers from.” Lee Dong-gun's mother, who watched the video in the studio, was shocked and said, “Oh my, why is our son like this?”
Meanwhile, Lee Dong-gun married actress Jo Yoon-hee in 2017 and had a daughter. However, he has been living as a single after their divorce three years later in 2020.
