Najee Wan said he was hit by pig's feet during the game.
On the afternoon of the 13th, the JTBC entertainment program 'Knowing Bros' (hereafter 'Ahyung') featured Jeong Min-cheol, Lee Dae-hyung, Najee Wan, and Yoon Seok-min.
During the broadcast, Jeong Min-cheol made a bombshell statement, saying, "I've seen Jang Hoon before," and added, "The main place we met was a nightclub." He continued, "You shouldn't think of nightclubs in a bad way. It was a place to meet. If Jang Hoon was there, I could meet other sports players."
When Kang Ho-dong excitedly asked, "Was Jang Hoon very popular in the nightclub?" Jeong Min-cheol agreed, saying, "He was." Even when Seo Jang-hoon told him to stop, Kang Ho-dong kept laughing, prompting Jang Hoon to threaten, "Okay! Are you going to stop?" Eventually, Kang Ho-dong sensed danger and cut off the conversation, making everyone laugh.
Jeong Min-cheol also mentioned that the reason he commentates for 'Strong Baseball' is that "seeing everyone gather and exercise makes me feel like I have to do well." He added that he has no desire to play again, saying, "I struggled a lot in my childhood. I couldn't play baseball until middle school, and I was held back for a year. My juniors became my peers, and my peers became my seniors, so I didn't go to college and went straight to the pros. Even though I'm doing this as a profession, if someone asks me if I would do it again, I would say no."
Najee Wan said he started playing baseball again because of his love for his son. He shared, "When I retired, my son was 3 years old. At my retirement ceremony, my son threw the first pitch, and recently he asked me if I could have another retirement ceremony. He wants to throw the first pitch again. That's how crazy he is about baseball."
He then showed his calloused hands, saying, "I hoped for this opportunity, and it came at the right time." Najee Wan expressed, "I'm quenching my thirst for baseball with my son. Since it's been about 4 years since I played, the bat feels like a heavy metal piece. Now my batting form has improved to the point where I can hit home runs."
Yoon Seok-min stated, "My help was significant in keeping Lee Dae-hyung in professional baseball." Lee Dae-hyung recounted, "I had a rival who was doing exceptionally well from the camp. So I became the designated hitter. During the opening game, Seok-min was the starting pitcher for the opposing team. The leadoff hitter who took my place went 0 for 5. That's how the opportunity came to me. The coach told me the next day that I would be the leadoff hitter."
He continued, "So I became the stolen base king, won a Golden Glove, and hit over .300. I really owe it to Seok-min. If I had played in the opening game, I would have gone 0 for 5."
Najee Wan also mentioned that he created a jinx for Yoon Seok-min. He said, "When we faced the Dinos, Seok-min pitched 8 innings without giving up a run. If he could just get through the first inning, it would be a perfect victory for him, but he was sitting next to me. So I said, 'You lost today, you bastard.' It was 8 to 0."
When asked why he said that, Yoon Seok-min replied, "You know why there are so many bench clearings? No matter how innocent you look, you say things like that," which made everyone laugh.
Najee Wan, who said they won in a dramatic comeback of 9 to 8, added, "I was just joking, but the closer messed up. So I cut ties with Seok-min for 3 days. I was so angry," indicating a rift in their relationship.
Yoon Seok-min shared, "Every 7 innings, Najee would say, 'Seok-min, congratulations on today's game.' If the game wasn't over yet, I would ask him to please wait until the game was finished. But that day, he did the opposite. The game really turned around. Someone was walking over, and I could smell him. I deliberately didn't look back. Then he would poke me. After that, I would go into the bathroom after the game and not come out until it was over."
Later, Min Kyung-hoon asked, "What is the difference between fans of good teams and bad teams?" Yoon Seok-min replied, "When we do well, the stadium is always full, and it's mostly cheers, but when we do poorly, you can count the audience with your hands."
Kim Hwan asked if there were any dark moments during their playing days. Jeong Min-cheol admitted that there was a season when he didn't win a single game. Yoon Seok-min added, "I had 18 losses in one season. Is that the 5th most losses in a single season in history?"
Lee Dae-hyung also shared, "I went 43 at-bats without a hit. My feet! I couldn't get a hit for 6 consecutive games," expressing his disappointment.
When Lee Dae-hyung was asked by Jang Seong-kyu if he had ever been approached by female celebrities, he replied, "Never," adding, "Back in our playing days, social media wasn't developed, so that didn't happen. I wasn't the type to go to nightclubs either."
The next question came from Lee Sang-min, who asked if there were any bizarre situations during their playing careers. Najee Wan recounted, "When I was a rookie, we were losing by a huge margin. I dropped the ball and went to pick it up when a whole pig's foot flew at my back. That's when I learned that in Gwangju, they dip pig's feet in sauce. So my clothes got all covered in sauce," which elicited laughter.
Yoon Seok-min shared a funny incident, saying, "In a crucial situation during the 4th playoff game, I tripped over something while moving from the mound to the dugout. The person who threw the first pitch was Park Jun-hyung, who was grating radishes. Fortunately, I wasn't hurt and finished the game, but back then, the artificial turf was hard to see," making everyone burst into laughter.
Afterward, the brothers and players took to the baseball field. Min Kyung-hoon's pitch was called out, and the face team won against the Cheol-hwan team with a score of 10 to 8.
