‘Typhoon Business’ has confirmed its premiere date for October 11. Following the success of Lim Yoona in ‘The Chef of the Tyrant’, expectations are high for Lee Junho's impactful performance.
tvN's new weekend drama ‘Typhoon Business’ (directed by Lee Na-jung, written by Jang Hyun, planned by Studio Dragon, produced by Imaginas and Studio PIC and Tree Studio) depicts the struggles and growth of ‘Kang Tae-poong’, a rookie businessman who becomes the president of a trading company with no employees, money, or products during the 1997 IMF crisis.
Amidst a bleak period when it felt like the world was ending due to a crisis that struck South Korea, the drama is expected to provide warm comfort and courage to those currently going through tough times, through the heartfelt survival stories of ordinary people who held their ground and did not stop living.
The poster released on the 8th highlights Kang Tae-poong (Lee Junho) in 1997, a time when he enjoyed freedom and wealth without restraint. True to the icon of youth from that era, his styling with bridge hair and unique fashion catches the eye. Moreover, his relaxed pose leaning out of the car window and cool gaze evoke the feel of a commercial.
Kang Tae-poong, who lived without knowing any lack due to his father's successful business, is a character who has never truly felt the weight of the world. Living freely and doing whatever he wanted, he appeared to be radiant and unrestrained, but he is about to face a massive change. He will encounter the great storm of the IMF at the end of the youth he enjoyed without limits.
Suddenly thrown into the position of president of a failing trading company, his life, which revolved around himself, becomes a fierce battlefield where he must embrace the survival of his employees. As he navigates the rough and fierce waves of ‘survival’, the anticipation for the hot journey ahead is heightened, intertwined with the tagline “Our youth that did not break during that time.”
The production team stated, “The ‘Romantic 1997’ poster shows the carefree youth of Kang Tae-poong, who enjoyed the wealth and freedom given by the previous generation without any cost before facing the harsh period of the IMF, but beneath it lies the impending storm of a crisis. The process of Kang Tae-poong overcoming that crisis to survive will convey a message of fierce spirit and hot hope. We hope you will join us in this survival journey.”
tvN's new weekend drama ‘Typhoon Business’ will premiere on October 11 at 9:20 PM.
