'Neighbor Millionaire' achieved the remarkable feat of winning both the Best Program and Best Writer awards in the Entertainment and Variety TV category at the 2025 Korean Broadcasting Awards.
At the 52nd Korean Broadcasting Awards ceremony held on the 3rd at SBS Prism Tower, EBS's entertainment program 'Seo Jang-hoon's Neighbor Millionaire' (hereinafter 'Neighbor Millionaire') won the Best Program and Best Writer awards in the Entertainment and Variety TV category.
The Korean Broadcasting Awards, hosted by the Korean Broadcasting Association (Chairman Bang Moon-sin), is a prestigious ceremony that selects the best works and individuals among terrestrial news, cultural, drama, and entertainment programs broadcast in the past year. This year, 29 works in 24 categories received the Best Program award, and 18 individuals in 20 categories were honored.
Among them, 'Neighbor Millionaire' was highly praised for "examining the lives, philosophies, and success secrets of neighbors who have achieved economic success, shedding light on the true meaning of wealth and forming a social consensus that spans generations," leading to its selection as the winner of the Best Program award in the Entertainment and Variety TV category. Additionally, it received acclaim for the Best Writer award for "delicately illuminating contemporary issues and elevating the quality of Korean broadcasting content."
In her acceptance speech, PD Kim Min-ji stated, "'Neighbor Millionaire' is a broadcast that conveys the values and philosophy of millionaires hidden behind visible assets, as well as the meaning of sharing," adding, "Meeting various millionaires in each episode brought the joy of encountering good adults of this era. It feels meaningful that the sweat and efforts we shared have borne fruit."
She continued, "I sincerely thank the production team who worked hard together, the 12 millionaires who willingly shared their life stories, and Senior Seo Jang-hoon, who kept the program centered with his sharp and warm perspective. I also want to express my gratitude to Jonathan, who was with us in Season 1."
Meanwhile, 'Neighbor Millionaire' is returning to regular programming thanks to the enthusiastic response from viewers. Having resonated deeply with many during Season 1 in the first half of this year, it has established itself as a representative cultural entertainment program of South Korea, and it is set to return with an upgraded scale and a glamorous lineup of personalities.
The '2 trillion giant' Seo Jang-hoon and 'tension fairy' Jang Ye-won are expected to bring an unprecedented chemistry to EBS's 'Seo Jang-hoon's Neighbor Millionaire,' which will premiere its regular broadcast on September 17 at 9:55 PM.
