Actors Ha Seung-ri and Hyun-woo have been cast as the leads in 'Mari and the Unusual Dads'.

The new daily drama 'Mari and the Unusual Dads' (directed by Seo Yong-soo, written by Kim Hong-joo), which is set to premiere on KBS 1TV in October, depicts the birth of an unusual family that is thicker than blood and more tenacious than sperm.

Director Seo Yong-soo, who has been recognized for his delicate directing skills in 'Dohyun's Confession', 'Overlap Knife, Knife', weekend drama 'Iron Family', and historical drama 'Goryeo-Khitan War', teams up with writer Kim Hong-joo, known for his smooth writing in human drama genres such as 'Even If I Hate You, I Love You' and 'High School Alumni'. The protagonists of 'Mari and the Unusual Dads' will be played by Ha Seung-ri and Hyun-woo, raising expectations with the addition of these two talented actors.

Ha Seung-ri will portray 'Kang Mari', a girl who is cold and logical, navigating a complex family environment due to her parents' sudden divorce and her constantly troublesome mother. While enduring a busy reality filled with part-time jobs and studies, she harbors deep feelings of longing for her father. After secretly contacting her father for three years, Mari finds herself embroiled in conflict when her secret is revealed, facing shocking truths.

Drawing on her acting experience accumulated since childhood, Ha Seung-ri is expected to resonate with the complex emotional lines of Mari. Now a 26-year veteran actress, there is much anticipation for her performance in 'Mari and the Unusual Dads'. It is particularly intriguing to see what kind of chemistry she will create with the male lead Lee Kang-se, and the three unexpected fathers, as well as the family Mari loves.

Hyun-woo has been cast as 'Lee Kang-se', Mari's kind and warm boyfriend who is also her senior in medical school. He grew up as an illegitimate child of his father, carrying scars from his upbringing, but matured respectfully while admiring his older brother. Having had a crush on Mari since their medical school days, he conveys his clumsy yet sincere feelings, dreaming of a pink romance. However, he finds himself caught up in an unexpected fate, leading to a new turning point.

This will be Hyun-woo's first challenge in a daily drama, having proven his acting skills in various genres such as 'Needle', 'The Gentlemen of the Moonlight Tailor Shop', and 'Flower Scholar's Love Story'. With his natural ability to embody characters and stable performances that captivate viewers, attention is drawn to how he will interact with Ha Seung-ri.

'Mari and the Unusual Dads' will premiere in October as a follow-up to 'Grab the Great Luck'.
