A running festival titled ‘MBC SPORTS+ 10K CHALLENGE SEOUL’ will take place in the heart of Seoul, combining autumn skies, music, and festivities.
On October 26, 2025, at 4 PM, the running festival ‘MBC SPORTS+ 10K CHALLENGE SEOUL’ hosted by MBC Sports will be held in the Yeouido area of Seoul.
This festival focuses on a single 10km course and aims to recruit a total of 15,000 participants. Registration will be available from 9 AM on September 9 through the official website and will close on a first-come, first-served basis.
‘10K CHALLENGE SEOUL’ is co-hosted by MBC SPORTS+ and WORLD21HQ, designed as a running festival in the heart of Seoul that combines music and visual presentations, going beyond traditional marathon events. WORLD21HQ is a professional event company that has successfully planned and operated sports and cultural events for major media and sports companies both domestically and internationally. Based on this experience, they will present a music and visual-centered festival-style running experience for runners in the heart of Seoul.
The biggest differentiator of this event is the start time. Unlike traditional marathons held in the morning, this event is set to start at 4 PM on Sunday, allowing runners to experience the moment when the sky over Seoul turns to sunset while running. In particular, the Seogang Bridge section, located in the middle of the course, is a famous spot where the sunset begins around 4 PM, allowing participants to enjoy the fantastic autumn scenery where the Han River and the city blend together.
The course runs from Yeouido Park – KBS Headquarters – National Assembly – Seogang Bridge – Yeouido IC Intersection – National Assembly – KBS Headquarters – Yeouido Park, covering a 10km route that includes landmarks in central Seoul and along the Han River. Yeouido is a center of politics, finance, and media, and it is a space where the present and future of Seoul intersect with the Han River and parks. While it usually serves as a stage for daily life and work, on this day, runners will become the protagonists of the city, transforming Yeouido into a new urban running stage that represents modern and dynamic Seoul.
The atmosphere at the event will also be different from the usual. Instead of a simple countdown to the start, runners will begin amidst a performance-driven presentation guided by music and large LED visuals. With music playing during the run, beats welcoming them at the finish line, and a DJ performance unfolding in the festival zone after completing the race, this ‘MBC SPORTS+ 10K CHALLENGE SEOUL’ is set to become the most special running festival of this autumn, capturing both records and enjoyment.
The event organizer stated, “Based on our stable operational know-how from planning and managing numerous prestigious events, we have carefully prepared to ensure that participants can enjoy the first and best 10K running festival where music and the sky breathe together in the heart of Seoul.”
