Actress Kim Tae-hee revealed that she is experiencing parenting stress.
On the 20th, Kim Tae-hee appeared on the tvN variety show ‘You Quiz on the Block’ (hereafter ‘You Quiz’) and shared stories from her school days as well as her current concerns.
On that day, Kim Tae-hee said, “It was a war (with parenting) until I came here. There are so many supplies and homework. Right after returning from New York, I ordered supplies, but the delivery was delayed. So I told my husband that I needed to buy this and deliver it to school this morning. In the end, my husband bought it at Dongmyo,” sharing her busy recent situation.
When Yoo Jae-suk asked, “Do you tend to raise your voice at the kids?” Kim Tae-hee replied, “I try not to.” She added, “Parenting is emotional labor, so the stress sometimes goes to my mom or husband. I try not to let it happen. My two daughters keep calling for me,” mentioning her unique struggles.
Kim Tae-hee said, “I had my first child as a honeymoon baby, and I’m the type to wear myself out with parenting, so raising them is harder than giving birth. I thought having a second child would be too much, but it happened naturally, and I ended up taking a 5-year break.”
Emphasizing the difficulties of parenting, Kim Tae-hee mentioned that she has been experiencing a late ‘midlife crisis.’ She said, “My mom is really a devoted person. Just like when my siblings and I were young, she raises my kids diligently. Because my mom has strict standards, the adolescence I didn’t experience during school came back as a midlife crisis, and I want to rebel against her words, which all sound like nagging.”
She continued, “I had a lot of parenting stress, but now that the kids have grown a lot, it has become easier. I think I didn’t treat my mom well during the most emotionally difficult times. I love you, mom,” showing tears.
Meanwhile, Kim Tae-hee married Rain in 2017 and has two daughters.
