The group Epik High has found their life burger in the United States.
On the 14th, Epik High (Tablo, Mithra, Tukutz) released a video titled ‘Almost Couldn’t Come to Korea While Searching for Life Burgers in America’ on their official YouTube channel.
Last week, Epik High showcased their visit to YouTube headquarters to receive the gold button for reaching 1 million subscribers in their ‘Epic Case’ video, and this time they embarked on a burger tour in San Francisco, USA.
After tasting the burgers they ordered at the first restaurant, the three remarked, “American burgers are often salty, but this one isn’t that salty,” “It has a low-key Shake Shack vibe,” and “This is the best burger I’ve had in the last few years,” drawing attention with their praise.
Tablo expressed his satisfaction by complimenting Chef Carlos, who handles all the cooking in the restaurant, saying, “Most burger places are greasy and salty, but this one has perfect flavor and isn’t greasy at all. It’s one of the best burgers I’ve ever had.” Even while moving to the next location, he continued to show respect, saying, “When the person is good, the food is delicious. I really like Carlos.”
To move to the next location, Epik High boarded a pre-booked Waymo (autonomous taxi) and was amazed by the vehicle that headed to their destination without a driver. The members were fascinated not only by the self-driving feature but also by the advanced AI technology that allowed them to choose the music they wanted to listen to throughout the ride, expressing their astonishment by saying, “We didn’t even have navigation when we were kids.” Meanwhile, Tukutz, feeling playful, joked, “Aren’t you driving properly?” directed at the AI, eliciting laughter.
Upon arriving at the second burger restaurant, Epik High was once again taken aback by the size of the burgers, which reflected the scale of America. The three continued their serious evaluations, saying, “This one doesn’t feel greasy either,” “It tastes healthier than the first burger,” and “If you like pure burger flavor, this place seems good.” Tukutz compared it by saying, “If the previous place was a Korean mart, this one is an organic mart,” which resonated with the members.
Meanwhile, Tablo, while removing the lettuce from his burger, confessed, “I’m going to get in big trouble from (Kang) Hye-jung,” revealing that he gets scolded by his wife for having a so-called ‘childish taste.’ In response, Tukutz argued, “I grew up eating lettuce when the beef in the burger was still alive. Since we ate that cow, it’s no different from eating lettuce,” presenting a miraculous logic, and a satisfied Tablo provocatively said, “Are you watching, Hye-jung? See, I told you,” adding another reason to get scolded.
Arriving at the final restaurant to conclude their burger tour, Epik High switched to chicken burgers for tasting and praised, “I understand why the people in this neighborhood like it.” The three then voted for their ultimate life burger restaurant, selecting the first place they visited as the best burger, thus wrapping up the tour.
