A tangled 'love line commotion' unfolded in Season 27 of ‘I Am SOLO’.
In the SBS Plus and ENA entertainment program ‘I Am SOLO’ aired on the 6th, the extreme situations of Sang-cheol, who became a 'romantic decision man', and Young-soo, who became a 'romantic wandering man', were showcased.
On the morning of the 4th day at 'Solo Nara 27', Jeong-sook and Ok-soon were waiting for Sang-cheol in the shared living room. However, when Sang-cheol did not show up, Jeong-sook and Ok-soon each felt bitter, thinking “(Sang-cheol's first choice) must not be me.” Meanwhile, Young-cheol approached Jeong-sook and asked, “Weren't you tired yesterday?” This made Young-soo, who was watching, suddenly stiffen his expression.
A little later, he confessed in an interview with the production team, “I feel jealous when I see Jeong-sook talking to someone else.” Frustrated with the lost love line, Young-soo went for a walk with Sang-cheol and Young-ho. At that time, Sang-cheol said, “Jeong-sook is fun, but it seems like she treats everyone the same. On the other hand, it doesn’t seem like Ok-soon does that,” and then hinted at his intention to go straight for Ok-soon by saying, “I’ve decided now.”
Encouraged by Sang-cheol's unexpected decision, Young-soo immediately went to find Jeong-sook. He then approached her, saying, “Rather than talking about something that doesn’t even exist (long-distance), I want to have a proper conversation.” He later went to Young-ja and honestly revealed, “If I get a chance for a date today, I’m thinking of asking Jeong-sook.” Young-ja expressed her feelings, saying, “I was also going to say that I would choose someone else today, but hearing that makes me feel disappointed.”
Shortly after, when all the solo men and women of Season 27 gathered, it was announced, “This time, we will match dates based on the choices of the solo women for the first time.” Immediately after, in the 'date selection', Young-sook chose Young-soo, Hyun-sook chose Young-sik, Young-ja and Sun-ja chose Kwang-soo, and Ok-soon and Jeong-sook also chose Kwang-soo.
As a result, Young-ho and Young-cheol ended up with '0 votes', and Young-soo, who wanted to go on a date with Jeong-sook, retorted to Young-sook's encouraging comment, “Let’s have fun talking today,” saying, “I currently lack the mental energy to care about that,” causing an awkward situation. After that, Young-soo couldn’t focus on his date with Young-sook, saying, “I want to go back to the accommodation quickly and talk to (Jeong-sook),” and only concentrated on eating. This frustrated Young-sook, who exclaimed, “This is annoying!” and he retorted, “Then why did you come here?” making the three MCs Defconn, Lee Yi-kyung, and Song Hae-na feel angry on her behalf.
Next, Sang-cheol went on a '2:1 date' with Jeong-sook and Ok-soon. From the beginning, Ok-soon, feeling like a loser, said, “I’ll sit in the back,” giving up the front passenger seat in Sang-cheol's car. After that, Sang-cheol and Jeong-sook enjoyed a pleasant conversation in the front seat, while Ok-soon became a passive observer.
However, upon arriving at a traditional Korean restaurant, Sang-cheol sweetly answered Ok-soon’s question, “Is it better to tie my hair or let it down?” with “Both are good,” and even served food to Ok-soon first, clearly taking care of her. This darkened Jeong-sook's expression, and in an interview with the production team after the date, she stated, “At first, I thought, ‘What is this?’ but gradually I thought, ‘Why didn’t I notice this?’ I lost all motivation. I felt like an intruder,” effectively declaring her 'giving up on Sang-cheol.'
At a similar time, Hyun-sook asked Young-sik, who had switched from Sun-ja to her, “Why suddenly?” Young-sik replied, “Sun-ja said she wanted to get to know other people, so I thought, ‘I should also get to know someone.’ After that, the first person that came to mind was you!”
In a sweet atmosphere, while taking pictures of each other at a café, Young-sik reminisced, “It’s been a while since I felt this romantic.” Immediately after, in an interview with the production team, he said, “Actually, I couldn’t get married due to conditions with my girlfriend from Jeongeup, where ‘Solo Nara 27’ is set up. So I was more fixated on conditions, but dating Hyun-sook today made me feel that emotions are prioritized over conditions again, which felt strange.”
Kwang-soo had a variety of discussions about life perspectives with Sun-ja and Young-ja. After the date, Young-ja revealed in an interview with the production team, “He is a good person, but I didn’t have romantic feelings.” Sun-ja expressed, “I feel like I would change for the better if I’m with him,” increasing her interest in Kwang-soo. On the other hand, Kwang-soo declared, “I have feelings for Jeong-sook, so it’s hard to develop feelings for both of you.”
After returning from the date with Jeong-sook and Ok-soon, Sang-cheol immediately called Ok-soon aside. He declared, “I’ve made up my mind. It’s Ok-soon!” He then confessed, “It felt good because it felt like my peaceful daily life.” Ok-soon exclaimed, “I’m really surprised. Amazing!” and they had a serious conversation about marriage.
At the same time, Young-soo requested a '1:1 conversation' with Jeong-sook. He appealed that he would earn a 'super date pass' to ask her out. In the preview released immediately after, Jeong-sook was seen throwing off her clothes and running in the 'super date pass' mission that started with a 'long-distance run'. Additionally, Young-soo confessed to Jeong-sook, “You looked so beautiful. I fell for you then,” while Young-ja warned him, “(Jeong-sook and I) both can leave,” keeping the love line of Season 27 in suspense until the end.
