Disney Plus has released character stills of Jeon Ji-hyun, who will showcase a new transformation as Seo Mun-joo in the well-made global project 'Polaris'.
'Polaris' tells the story of 'Mun-joo' (Jeon Ji-hyun), who has built an international reputation as a UN ambassador, as she chases the truth behind the assassination attempt on a presidential candidate, alongside a mysterious special agent 'San-ho' (Kang Dong-won) who must protect her, facing a huge truth that threatens the Korean Peninsula.
Jeon Ji-hyun, who has redefined her life characters in every work she has appeared in, such as the films 'Assassination', 'Berlin', 'The Thieves', and the series 'Kingdom: Ashin of the North', plays Seo Mun-joo, who is on the trail of the assassination attempt on the presidential candidate. Mun-joo is a character with exceptional patriotism, having studied with a Taegeukgi (Korean flag) on her desk since childhood.
After completing his studies in the United States and becoming a diplomat, he has built solid trust and international reputation by peacefully representing South Korea's position on the world stage as a UN ambassador. One day, he witnesses the assassination attempt on a presidential candidate at a mass praying for peaceful unification and decides to uncover the truth behind it. The released character stills show Mun-joo's determined and dignified gaze while delivering a speech as a UN ambassador, hinting at his upright character. Additionally, his early morning running showcases his strong and resilient daily life, and his sharp gaze as he approaches hidden truths adds an intriguing curiosity about the character of Mun-joo, who will confront a great truth.
Jeon Ji-hyun stated, "He was a character that was quiet but solid and strong, a character I could challenge as an actor," explaining her fascination with the Mun-joo character. Writer Jeong Seo-kyung revealed, "From the beginning of the story, Mun-joo was Jeon Ji-hyun. I thought about what color she should show among the various spectrums she possesses," raising expectations for her perfect character portrayal.
