The SBS variety show ‘Running Man’ aired on the afternoon of the 16th, themed around the age 'elevation'.
In this episode, the production team explained, “Today, we will have an age elevation race to welcome spring 2025. The basic filming height is 100m above sea level. For reference, Inwangsan is 338m, and Bukhansan is 835m. Every time you spend the money you need, the filming altitude increases by 10m for every 50,000 won. Since the flowers haven't bloomed yet, you can buy flowers directly from the flower market.”
They continued, “This mission is ‘Time is Money’. The quiz answerers will escape to the answer zone, and if all seven members escape, it will be a success. As the number of people decreases, the difficulty also lowers. If you want to change the question, just shout 'pass', but it will cost an additional 50,000 won for flower purchases. Until the mission ends, coffee will be provided for the members and staff, and the cost of this coffee will also be reflected in the filming altitude.”
Then, a question was posed: “What is the term that reflects the desire to customize purchases according to personal preferences while wanting to buy what others buy and differentiate oneself?” Ultimately, the members passed. Ji Ye-eun boasted, “Oh, I’ve heard a lot about the topping economy.”
The next question was posed, and Yoo Jae-suk answered ‘Asset Report’ and moved to the answer zone. Following him, Ji Suk-jin, Kim Jong-kook, Yang Se-chan, and Ha Ha also answered correctly and escaped.
The production team then asked, “What is the oldest existing woodblock print discovered at the Seokgatap of Bulguksa Temple?”
In deep thought, Song Ji-hyo recalled what she had learned last time and said, “Mugujungkwangdaedarani,” while Ji Ye-eun humorously responded with “Mugujunggwan daedananil,” causing everyone to burst into laughter.
When Song Ji-hyo said “Mugujungkwangdaedarani-pan,” Ji Ye-eun quickly corrected it to “Mugujunggwan daedarani-gyeong,” which made Song Ji-hyo exclaim, “Hey! You’re taking my answer...” unable to contain her anger.
After the quiz mission, the members went to buy flowers. Kim Jong-kook, in particular, couldn't take his eyes off the flowers, and when Ji Suk-jin brought a bouquet, Ha Ha teased him, saying, “It’s so sad.” Hearing this, Ji Suk-jin retorted, “You little! When I buy chrysanthemums, you tell me not to buy them,” which made the members laugh.
The production team then called the members in order of the expensive clothes they wore, with Ha Ha, who wore clothes worth 3.6 million won, coming in first. The members also took time to choose outfits for the age elevation shoot.
Ji Ye-eun asked Kim Jong-kook, “How about this, senior? A crop top?” and laughed, to which Kim Jong-kook exclaimed, “Oh no! I’ll get a stomachache!” in shock.
The members couldn't hold back their laughter as they looked at each other. Song Ji-hyo explained Yang Se-chan's outfit, saying, “Se-chan is going for a woodcutter concept with flowers. He’s got a baby face.”
When the members saw Yoo Jae-suk in a dress, they burst into laughter for a long time, especially Ha Ha, who joked, “He looks like the lady from Snowpiercer!”
Yoo Jae-suk declared, “I’m going to catch GD! GD, I’m coming for you!” while Yang Se-chan continued to tease him, saying, “You’re not a fly!”
Next, Kim Jong-kook revealed his fashion, and the members burst into laughter at his hot pants and crop top. Kim Jong-kook exclaimed, “What is this... this should be penalized,” in disbelief. Yoo Jae-suk laughed, saying, “Ye-eun isn’t someone who has built a foundation in entertainment, right? It’s like back when the bodybuilder lady craze was happening,” while Ha Ha kept teasing, “The bottom is Tyson, but the top is a bodybuilder lady.”
Ji Ye-eun, who dressed Kim Jong-kook, laughed, saying, “This was originally a fashion for jogging along the Han River... hot girl.” In the end, Ji Ye-eun’s styled Kim Jong-kook and Yoo Jae-suk’s styled Ji Suk-jin took first and second place, respectively.
Afterward, the members had lunch, and despite knowing that the altitude would increase by the amount they spent, Ji Ye-eun's table was caught trying to secretly order two servings of pork belly. Ji Suk-jin protested, “Thinking about it, it’s frustrating... there are two people there! But there are three here. And there’s a big eater here!” and the members conceded, saying, “We acknowledge that.”
Ultimately, the altitude increased by 40m, bringing it to 310m, and the members worked hard on missions to reduce the altitude by 100m.
After lowering the altitude to 210m, the members decided to hike Mount Yongma. While climbing, Ji Ye-eun stumbled, and Kim Jong-kook took charge, while Ye-eun exclaimed, “Let’s take a break! Let’s drink some water!” unable to contain her frustration.
Kim Jong-kook and Song Ji-hyo, who arrived at 210m above sea level first, enjoyed the view of Seoul while preparing for the shoot. As soon as Ji Ye-eun arrived, the members shouted, “Running Man is rated 15+!” and posed, successfully completing the age elevation shoot.
However, the production team announced, “We will give you the final rule for descending. Only those who roll the dice and get ‘descend’ can go down. Those who fail will have to climb an additional 20m.”
All members, except Yoo Jae-suk, had to climb more, with Kim Jong-kook and Ji Suk-jin climbing an additional 80m.
