Park Seo-jin expressed his love for his parents.
In the KBS2 broadcast of ‘Salim Nam Season 2’ on the afternoon of the 2nd, Seo-jin taught his parents how to use AI and more.
On that day’s broadcast, Park Seo-jin's mother called him in a hurry because she didn’t know how to use the induction stove. Seo-jin revealed, “I never thought my mom wouldn’t know how to use the induction stove. I told her how to use it last time, so I was wondering why she couldn’t use it.” However, when Seo-jin also didn’t know how to use the induction stove, the Seo-jin family was eagerly waiting for Hyo-jung.
After coming out of the bathroom, Hyo-jung taught his parents how to use the induction stove. Watching his back, Park Seo-jin teased, “Why have you gained so much weight after seeing Young-joo?” asking if there was something going on with his English teacher. His mother also teased, “Do you love him? Do you like him? Then why did you eat so much?” Hyo-jung avoided answering, saying, “No, I ate a lot.”
When the eldest son Hyo-young suggested a family trip to Ulleungdo, Seo-jin said, “It seems like something has changed in my brother since the 70th birthday party.” The father stated in an interview, “I’m over seventy, and if I get sick, I won’t be able to go again, so I want to travel to Ulleungdo with all five of us while I’m still healthy.”
Seo-jin's father explained the reason for not going on an overseas trip, saying, “Seo-jin sweated while playing the janggu, and as a parent, I can’t just go when my children say let’s go, so I thought of Ulleungdo.”
After deciding on the family trip to Ulleungdo, the Seo-jin family decided to ask AI about their travel questions. Before that, Seo-jin asked AI if it knew singer Park Seo-jin.
Seo-jin then taught his parents how to book a taxi using an app. When Eun Ji-won, who was watching the VCR, said he didn’t understand, Park Seo-jin teased, “Didn’t you not know the kiosk, Ji-won? Do you know this one?” To which Eun Ji-won replied, “I’ve never seen that either. I’ve tried to wave my hand like this... I don’t even have the desire to learn about that.”
Next to him, Baek Ji-young asked, “You’re really a resourceful woman... Oh, you’re getting married? You’re resourceful, right?” To which Eun Ji-won replied, “Of course! I’m sharp in that area,” and Baek Ji-young nodded, saying, “From what you said, it seems like that.”
Seo-jin's parents attempted to book a taxi through the app but failed and ended up waving their hands to catch a taxi. After getting out of the taxi, when they met Seo-jin and Hyo-jung, the parents shook their heads at Seo-jin’s suggestion to order food through the kiosk.
After struggling, they successfully placed an order. When the robot brought the food, the mother, who ordered the food, joyfully exclaimed, “We ordered everything! It was so fun that I kept pressing the buttons.” The total amount of the order was 300,000 won. They had ordered five servings of shabu-shabu and various dishes at an unlimited refill shabu-shabu restaurant. Although they were worried about the large amount of food, the Seo-jin family finished everything.
Seo-jin expressed his love for his family, saying, “I feel like my parents have become smaller than before. They seem intimidated and are conscious of others. It was a day that made me feel both angry and sorry. Conversely, I thought about how much patience my parents must have had while raising me when I was young. So, since I’ve grown this much, I want to be patient and teach them a lot.”
As the second segment of ‘Salim Nam’, Ji Sang-ryeol, who went on a trip to Gangneung, appeared. At this time, Sang-ryeol's sister-in-law's four children also made an appearance. The six of them revealed that they decided to travel for the third child who is about to undergo brain tumor surgery.
While planning the trip, Sang-ryeol called Seo-jin to ask for tips. When Seo-jin said that revealing a new relationship would be the biggest surprise, Sang-ryeol responded, “Didn’t you talk a lot about Hyun-sook last time? Are you making fun of our love?”
After playing in the water, Sang-ryeol arrived at the restaurant and said, “I saw my in-laws when I was in the 6th grade of elementary school, and 43 years have passed,” revealing a deep connection. Sang-ryeol's sister-in-law's siblings, who rushed from the U.S. and Korea for Sang-ryeol's mother’s 49th memorial service, expressed their gratitude, saying, “That’s only natural. We’re family,” and “Sang-ryeol treated our mother well.”
Next, they visited Beophwangsa Temple on Cheongseong Mountain in Gangneung. The sister-in-law explained the reason for their visit, saying, “We brought our parents here, so when we travel, it’s Gangneung and Beophwangsa.”
The second sister of the sister-in-law expressed her gratitude to her younger sister, saying, “Mom and Dad... Dad had a stroke at 62 and collapsed, spending 10 years in a nursing home and 10 years at home. He passed away at 82, and Mom collapsed, so for 10 years, she took care of him while my sister did all the work. The youngest did the most important work.”
The sister-in-law, who had only taken care of her parents for 30 years, said, “I developed angina while taking care of them,” adding, “It was due to overwork. I was taken to the emergency room three times. Once, when Sang-ryeol was there, I remember being taken to the emergency room and hearing him say, ‘Sister-in-law, I’m here! Don’t worry. Nothing will happen,’ and I was really grateful for that.”
When the third child mentioned needing brain tumor surgery, the second child said, “My sister contacted me a while later. She said she needed to come to Korea. She wanted to stay by her younger sibling’s side for two nights, eat together, and spend time together, so she came out,” showing a strong sibling bond.
