The representative couple variety show in Korea, SBS ‘Same Bed, Different Dreams Season 2 – You Are My Destiny’ (hereafter ‘Same Bed, Different Dreams 2’) will celebrate its 400th episode on August 4th.

Since its first broadcast in July 2017, ‘Same Bed, Different Dreams 2’ has steadfastly maintained its Monday slot, making it one of the longest-running and most beloved couple variety shows among the plethora of couple-themed entertainment programs.

‘Same Bed, Different Dreams 2’ holds remarkable records, including a peak viewership rating of 15.8% (based on Nielsen Korea's metropolitan area data) and being ranked first in viewership ratings for 76 consecutive weeks in its time slot, along with a total of over 1.8 billion views on its YouTube clips.

The continued popularity of ‘Same Bed, Different Dreams 2’ can be attributed to its honest and realistic portrayal of couples' lives, showcasing the unique ‘different dreams’ of various star couples while demonstrating their understanding and adjustments to each other.

The show has featured a staggering 90 couples, from the ‘first destiny couple’ Lee Jae-myung and Kim Hye-kyung to the ‘Chuwu couple’ Choo Ja-hyun and Woo Hyo-kwang, Han Go-eun and Shin Young-soo, the deeply trusting and affectionate couple Son Ji-chang and Oh Yeon-soo, newlyweds Kang Nam and Lee Sang-hwa, Jeon Jin and Ryu Yi-seo, Seven and Lee Da-hae, the touching story of adoption shared by Jin Tae-hyun and Park Si-eun, and various forms of couple life showcased by Lee Bong-won and Yeom Kyung-hwan, providing entertainment, empathy, and sometimes emotional moments through their diverse ‘different dreams’ and daily lives as couples.

According to a survey released by Good Data Corporation, a K-content competitiveness analysis agency, the participants of ‘Same Bed, Different Dreams 2’ ranked in the top 10 for ‘non-drama participant popularity’ and ‘search issue keywords’ a total of 82 times from the fourth week of February 2020 to the third week of July 2025, proving their popularity.

To commemorate its 400th episode, ‘Same Bed, Different Dreams 2’ will feature a special six-week broadcast with legendary destiny couples appearing in succession. The first guest will be caricature artist Jeong Eun-hye, who left a deep impression as Han Ji-min's twin sister in the drama ‘Our Blues’.

Jeong Eun-hye, who has Down syndrome, married Jo Young-nam, whom she met at a public job site for people with developmental disabilities, after a year of dating in May, receiving much support. The couple will not only share their story for the first time on air but also reflect on the meaning of family.

Next, the longest-running couple on ‘Same Bed, Different Dreams 2’, In Gyo-jin and So Yi-hyun, who gained immense love with the nickname ‘Inso couple’, have confirmed their appearance. The two have shown various ‘different dreams’ and a cheerful couple life like friends through the program, while also evoking envy with their sweet moments, earning them the title of a ‘couple to aspire to’.

This will be the first time in about five years that they will appear together as a destiny couple, rather than as special MCs, since the 3rd anniversary special in 2020. Their return after a long time raises expectations for what kind of daily life they will showcase.

In addition to Jeong Eun-hye and Jo Young-nam, and In Gyo-jin and So Yi-hyun, the 400th special will also feature other beloved destiny couples and new legendary destiny couples, drawing significant attention. The six-week special of SBS ‘Same Bed, Different Dreams 2’ will air on August 4th at 10:10 PM.
