Hwasa, a member of the group Mamamoo, shared her feelings after the controversy over obscenity.
On the afternoon of the 13th, Hwasa appeared as a guest on the KBS entertainment program 'Crazy Rich Koreans'.
On that day, Hwasa recalled the time she was reported for her high-level performance at a university festival last year, saying, "When the criticism peaked, my mom was the first to text me. She asked, 'Is our daughter okay?'"
Hwasa expressed, "'Is our daughter okay?' That text felt like my heart was being torn apart," and added, "My mom and dad were people who didn't understand me. I told her, 'If my mom didn't understand me when I was young, how could others?' and then my mom said, 'I'm proud of my daughter,'" reflecting on her bittersweet feelings.
Hwasa confessed that she even experienced panic symptoms due to the controversy. She said, "When I suddenly felt unstable at the Turkey airport, my sisters hugged me at the same time without lying. I burst into tears there," and expressed her gratitude to the staff, saying, "I could feel that my sisters unconsciously wanted to protect me."
She continued, "I am also human, so there are times when I feel unstable," adding, "I don't know the reason. There are moments when it feels hard to breathe," and noted, "Now, the frequency has decreased a lot."
Additionally, Hwasa shared her experience during a performance in the U.S., saying, "The cheering was so loud that even when I turned the in-ear volume up to the maximum, I couldn't hear it. If I turn it up to the max, I get tinnitus and my eardrums get damaged. I turned it up too much because I couldn't hear, and the in-ear broke," adding to the sense of regret.
