Jo Yu-ri revealed behind-the-scenes stories of 'Squid Game'.

On the afternoon of the 12th, the MBC entertainment program 'Jung-Cham-Si' featured singer and actress Jo Yu-ri and YouTuber Mini Evening showcasing their daily lives.

In this episode, Jo Yu-ri appeared as the first protagonist of the segment. She started her day by watching 'Chimchak Man' videos. Her manager commented, "Yu-ri always watches videos before going to bed, it's always on." Jo Yu-ri expressed her fandom, saying, "I watch 'Chimchak Man' while eating, and even before sleeping, I listen to his voice; it's just the basic music in our house."

Jo Yu-ri, who considers seasoned crab as her soul food, ate seasoned crab from the morning. Her manager revealed, "She looks super cute, but her MBTI is T, and she's a very easy-going girl from Busan."

After finishing her meal, she made a call to her mother and watched 'Squid Game', in which she appeared.

Later, Jo Yu-ri, her director, and manager headed to the YouTube radio broadcast schedule for promoting 'Squid Game'. During the move, Jo Yu-ri reminisced about the moment she received the acceptance call for 'Squid Game'. When her director said, "I don't usually call you during schedules," Jo Yu-ri recalled, "I was in the middle of recording the OST, but I felt like I had to answer that call. Normally, I don't answer calls while recording. So I asked for permission and answered, and the director said, 'You got it!'

The director shared, "Yu-ri had a strong desire to act, so she auditioned almost every day. I felt her skills were improving. I thought, 'This girl is going to make it,' but I couldn't believe she got accepted. I called Yu-ri, and she was screaming and crying. She had really worked hard. When that moment passed, I suddenly felt emotional and quickly hung up."

After meeting 'Chimchak Man', Jo Yu-ri expressed her fandom and started a live broadcast. After the broadcast, she met actor Lee Da-wit. Unlike Lee Da-wit, who was cast directly, Jo Yu-ri mentioned that she had auditioned up to the fourth round, saying, "I couldn't cry during the third audition. So I said, 'I'm usually a faucet, but if there's a fourth audition, please call me.' But even during the fourth round, I couldn't cry well. I thought I would regret going home like this, so I decided to try one more time. A single tear came out, and at that moment, all my efforts flashed through my mind," sharing her casting story.

Lee Da-wit remarked, "If we had filmed in Seoul, I don't think we would have become this close," to which Jo Yu-ri responded, "We filmed in Daejeon. Did we have gatherings every time someone died?" making a somewhat bizarre comment. She added, "We also divided the waiting rooms into good and evil characters, but I visited the evil character's waiting room every day."

Jo Yu-ri explained about the security of 'Squid Game', saying, "You can bring your smartphone, but once you enter, they put stickers on you to prevent photos. There's also an access pass that you need to scan with a QR code to enter. I only learned the ending while watching this episode. If you die, there’s no next script." She continued, "However, when I wanted to talk about it, I was told I could share it with my family and company, so I spoke about it when I wanted to."

The second protagonist of the segment was YouTuber Mini Evening, who specializes in miniature cooking. Mini Evening's husband and manager said, "My wife does all the home decor, even the bathroom tiles. After getting married, it was hard for her to work due to career interruption. I thought it would be nice if she could do what she wanted when she had the time, and she has always been interested in cute things. I believe that being supportive when someone wants to do something is what a husband should do, and that's how the channel was born," expressing his love for his wife.

Arriving at a regular mart by bicycle, Mini Evening chose ingredients that were particularly smaller in size, such as onions and potatoes. After returning home, she prepared mini pork belly with her husband and immediately filmed a video for French toast and spiral potato dishes. Her husband showcased his impressive knife skills while helping her, and when a miniature pot broke, he took care of the cleanup himself.

Her husband expressed, "While filming, I realized my wife could shine like this... I'm truly grateful for what you’ve done for me that I couldn't do," shedding tears.

'Jung-Cham-Si' airs every Saturday at 11:10 PM on MBC.
