In the pet observation reality show ‘When You Leave Home, You Get Dog Comfort’, Jeon Hyun-moo, Kang So-ra, Jo Han-sun, Park Sun-young, Ray, and Song Geon-hee empathize with the common concern of all pet owners, ‘pet loss syndrome’, and collectively shed tears.
In the upcoming episode of the JTBC entertainment program ‘When You Leave Home, You Get Dog Comfort’, which airs on the 13th, a 12-year-old dog named Gureumi, who is entering the ‘senior dog’ stage, will appear.
Gureumi’s owner expressed, “I want Gureumi to stay by my side for a long time, but the more I calculate Gureumi’s age, the more worried I become. Even before Gureumi became a senior dog, I cried a lot imagining our separation,” showing concern about parting with their pet.
The owner continued, “So at that time, I decided to create more memories with Gureumi before he becomes a senior dog. I cried in advance, and now I actually laugh more often and live happily with Gureumi.”
Hearing this, Jo Han-sun shared, “I’m also raising my third dog, but my two friends, Mong-sil and Woo, have already gone to heaven. I don’t know how to cope with such a situation. When the moment of parting comes, I don’t know what to do, so it’s amazing to think about it in advance,” conveying that parting with a pet is difficult even after experiencing it multiple times.
Jeon Hyun-moo confessed, “After my dog ‘Tto Tto’ passed away, I was choked up for months just seeing dogs of the same breed. Even while broadcasting, I got choked up. At that time, I didn’t even know the concept of ‘pet loss syndrome’, so I thought, ‘This is something I have to overcome.’ It was really hard.”
Song Geon-hee also shared, “My dog ‘Kong-hee’, who I was with for 15 years, crossed the rainbow bridge four years ago. I still can’t bring a new dog home. Even if a new friend comes, I’m afraid the longing for Kong-hee will feel like a shadow over the new one, so it’s still difficult for me,” revealing his sorrow for his departed pet.
Hearing this, Kang So-ra, Park Sun-young, and Ray also became emotional as they recalled their own pets. Jeon Hyun-moo advised, “You need to prepare your heart in advance. An unexpected parting can be more shocking than you think,” emphasizing the importance of preparing for separation as well as meeting with pets.
