'Pine: The Villagers' Yang Se-jong expressed his affection for the drama.
On the 8th, a production presentation for Disney Plus's new original series 'Pine: The Villagers' took place at the Grand Ballroom of the Conrad Hotel in Yeouido, Yeongdeungpo-gu, Seoul. The event was attended by director Kang Yoon-sung, as well as actors Ryu Seung-ryong, Yang Se-jong, Lim Soo-jung, Kim Ui-sung, Kim Sung-oh, Kim Jong-soo, Lee Dong-hwi, Jung Yoon-ho, Lee Sang-jin, and Kim Min. The event was hosted by broadcaster Park Kyung-rim.
Yang Se-jong reflected, "I think I changed a lot emotionally through this work. I am grateful to my seniors, and it was a work that allowed me to grow as a human Yang Se-jong." Ryu Seung-ryong also praised, "It was a work that made me feel sad to end. I wondered when I would experience such a happy set again. I learned a lot, especially Yang Se-jong, who was always looking at the script. That was impressive."
Kim Ui-sung shared, "Many people struggled during the filming, so it was tough, but it was a drama that will be remembered for a long time."
He continued, "I have filmed many dramas and movies, but this is undoubtedly the one that will be remembered the longest. I think the actors went through a lot together and built a lot of friendships," recalling the unique chemistry during filming.
'Pine: The Villagers' is set in 1977 and tells the story of those who gather to claim a sunken treasure ship in the sea. Ryu Seung-ryong plays the leader 'Oh Kwan-seok' of the people gathered to excavate the treasure in the waters off Sinan. Yang Se-jong plays 'Oh Hee-dong,' who sets out to find the treasure with his uncle Oh Kwan-seok, while Lim Soo-jung portrays 'Yang Jeong-sook,' who has a knack for making money at Heungbaek Industries.
In addition, irreplaceable supporting actors such as 'Professor Kim' (Kim Ui-sung), 'Im Jeon-chul' (Kim Sung-oh), 'Captain Hwang' (Hong Gi-jun), 'Hong Gi' (Lee Dong-hwi), 'Beolgu' (Jung Yoon-ho), 'Na Dae-sik' (Lee Sang-jin), and 'Seon-ja' (Kim Min) will also appear, raising expectations.
'Pine: The Villagers' will release 3 episodes on the 16th, 2 episodes on the 23rd, 2 episodes on the 30th, 2 episodes on August 6th, and 2 episodes on August 13th, totaling 11 episodes.
