Comedian Kim Jun-hyun's Kimchi Cold Noodles received rave reviews.
In the KBS2 broadcast of ‘New Product Launch Pyeon Restaurant’ (hereinafter ‘Pyeon Restaurant’) aired on the 4th, Kim Jun-hyun was depicted as trapping the production team in a ‘dinner hell’.
On this day, Kim Jun-hyun met with the ‘Pyeon Restaurant’ production team at a restaurant in Seoul. He jokingly said, “We filmed for a day, so shouldn’t we have a dinner gathering?”
Kim Jun-hyun stated, “For me, a dinner gathering is like moisture. It needs to be continuously replenished.” He added, “Personally, I am a dinner gathering enthusiast. There are a few dinner gathering enthusiasts. Shin Dong-yeob is one of them. He is obsessed with dinner gatherings and also with good restaurants. That’s why it becomes a happy dinner gathering.”
Kim Jun-hyun also shared tips on choosing a dinner gathering location. He said, “Since a dinner gathering usually involves at least 10 people, it’s important to consider whether everyone can sit at once and how quickly the menu items come out. And it has to be delicious.” He continued, “Having done eating broadcasts for over 10 years, I think choosing a restaurant is also a skill. So, you need to choose well.”
Kim Jun-hyun ordered squid and water parsley pancakes, boiled pork with vegetables, assorted boiled pork hot pot, oxtail hot pot, and soybean paste hot pot for each table. A staff member was surprised and asked, “Don’t we usually just eat one main dish?”
As Kim Jun-hyun and the production team began the dinner gathering, they quickly devoured the food. However, soon the production team struggled with fullness. Seeing this, Kim Jun-hyun exclaimed, “This is just the beginning. It’s a dinner gathering, so we have to go for a second round, right?” surprising everyone.
Afterward, Kim Jun-hyun took the production team to his hideout. He pulled out a giant basin and said, “Let’s make a lot and eat together. Let’s enjoy it and wrap up the day.”
Kim Jun-hyun boiled water in a large pot while slicing cucumbers and green chili peppers, and seasoned the kimchi toppings. He then cooked the noodles and filled a strainer to the brim.
Kim Jun-hyun made everyone laugh with a single serving of noodles that resembled three servings. He said, “Who decided what a single serving is? Fat people always say that. Who decided that a single serving is 150g? Who made this world with such rules?”
Kim Jun-hyun shared the Kimchi Cold Noodles he made with the production team. Seeing them enjoy the noodles, he proudly said, “Noodles are meant to be slurped.” The production team praised, “It’s on a different level than what you buy. This is the most delicious noodles we’ve ever had.”
