‘World of Street Woman Fighter’ has officially revealed the special judge lineup for the second elimination battle.
On the 30th, Mnet’s ‘World of Street Woman Fighter’ (hereafter ‘World of Street Woman Fighter (WSWF)’) announced the special judge lineup along with stills capturing the intense atmosphere ahead of the second elimination battle.
The special judge lineup for the second elimination battle includes Japan's new school hip-hop dancer Oshima, global waacking genius Yoonji, and Canadian breaking gold medalist Phil Wizard (Philip Kim), creating an unprecedented lineup worthy of the ‘world class’ title. The three will participate in judging to determine the second eliminated crew alongside Mike Song and Park Jin-young.
Oshima, hailing from Japan, is a skilled new school hip-hop dancer who began his career in 1994 and is currently a member of three crews: STRUT, BUTTER, and ZENITH. Having served as a battle judge at Japan's top dance competitions, he is expected to bring deep insights to ‘World of Street Woman Fighter’ as well.
Yoonji is a world-renowned waacking genius and a finalist from ‘Street Woman Fighter’ Season 2, known for her expertise in various genres including waacking, krumping, hip-hop, voguing, popping, tutting, and locking. She has gained recognition for her skills by competing in numerous street dance battle competitions both domestically and internationally.
Phil Wizard, a Korean-Canadian, is a member of the Canadian breaking national team and the inaugural champion who won the historic first gold medal in breaking at the 2024 Paris Olympics. With a gold medal from the 2022 WDSF World Breaking Championships, he is already considered a legend in the breaking scene, and there is great interest in the presence he will showcase in this ‘World of Street Woman Fighter’.
The stills released alongside the lineup feature the three special judges Oshima, Yoonji, and Phil Wizard, heightening curiosity for the upcoming broadcast. Oshima expressed, “I have never seen a program of this scale globally. I wanted to see firsthand how this program is made, and I am truly honored to participate as a judge this time.”
Yoonji shared, “It was a bit daunting to judge dancers with such global talent, but more than anything, having experience from Season 2, I know how deep and meaningful this position is, so my desire to be part of it outweighed any hesitation. The time spent was truly memorable, and I hope viewers do not miss this amazing competition.”
Phil Wizard remarked, “‘World of Street Woman Fighter’ is an incredible show where you can feel each dancer's passion and desire for victory. Everyone showcased their best. Thinking about how people around the world will watch this episode makes me really excited, and I look forward to the stories that will unfold.”
The performances of the new special judges can be seen in the ‘World of Street Woman Fighter’ airing on July 1.
