A variety of stories brought to life with imaginative creativity will unfold in the ‘EBS AI Short Theater’.
On the 27th at 2:30 PM, EBS1 will air the first fully AI-produced broadcast program in Korea, ‘EBS AI Short Theater’.
‘EBS AI Short Theater’ features four short videos created using generative AI. This project is the first fully AI-produced broadcast video in Korea, completed through collaboration with AI by producers from different fields such as PD, technology, camera, and business planning, promising a new fantastical journey created by the meeting of human imagination and artificial intelligence.
The first short, ‘Toto and Friends' World Exploration – Episode 1: Greece Edition “The Mysterious Games of Mount Olympus”’, is an educational animation for children featuring four friends: the curious rabbit Toto, the mischievous red panda Kumo, the artistically talented elephant Ella, and the wise giraffe Gigi. They take a train ride around Mount Olympus, learning about the charm of traditional games and the historical significance of ancient myths. The process of conveying cultural heritage through cheerful animal characters is clear and lively, like a folktale reinterpreted with 21st-century sensibilities.
The second short, ‘Mind Game – Episode 1: The Trap of First Impressions’, dissects the psychological illusions created by our unconscious that we do not recognize in our daily lives, through psychology, neuroscience, and social context. Based on the message “We are currently living in a psychological game orchestrated by the unconscious,” this short and intense psychological documentary series invites viewers to explore the hidden blind spots between judgment and belief.
The third short, ‘Ibis's Study of Humanity’, follows AI ‘Ibis’, which is evolving into AGI (Artificial General Intelligence), as it transcends time and space to meet historical figures within its own data in search of answers to fundamental human questions. Following the learning notes of the AI studying humans, viewers are encouraged to reflect on the values of human essence.
Finally, ‘Human AI, on Trial’ is a sci-fi courtroom drama set in the near future, where two humanoid AIs (the babysitter AI ‘Hana’ and the firefighter AI ‘Zero’) are summoned to an AI court after making conflicting choices due to cultural value differences. The debates unfolding inside and outside the courtroom reimagine the landscape of ethics that humans must teach to AI.
These four AI short videos, crossing generations and genres, will expand the horizons of classroom and home learning while broadening the discourse on coexistence between AI and humans.
EBS stated, “With this broadcast, we plan to continuously present a variety of video projects utilizing generative AI.”
