Actor Namgoong-min confessed the sorrows of his unknown days.

On the 17th, SBS’s ‘Whenever, Wherever’ featured guests Namgoong-min, Jeon Yeo-bin, and Lee Seol.

On this day, Yoo Jae-suk reminisced while walking in Yeouido, the location of the show, saying, “I used to record a lot in Yeouido back in the day.” He continued, “When we did studio recordings, the directors would open the talkback and talk a lot. Back then, the directors were often angry. It was really scary,” he said.

Yoo Yeon-seok added, “If I made a lot of NGs, my scene would be moved to the back.” Yoo Jae-suk and Namgoong-min drew attention by saying, “We don’t want to go back to those days. It was too terrible.”

Namgoong-min talked about the atmosphere on the set of the drama ‘Our Movie’, saying, “Jeon Yeo-bin and Lee Seol are very lively. Even though I’m a senior, they come and talk to me a lot. They really create a great atmosphere. Honestly, these days, I’m careful around my juniors,” he laughed.

When Namgoong-min said, “Jeon Yeo-bin praises me a lot,” Jeon Yeo-bin replied, “I’ve grown fond of Namgoong-min and I think I’ve relied on him a lot. Since he keeps saying I’m doing well, I didn’t know how to repay that, so I returned it with compliments.”

Namgoong-min joked, “Compliments should be given in moderation, but once it starts, it goes on for 15-20 minutes.” To this, Yoo Jae-suk joked, “Isn’t that just buttering him up? Did you just shut him up with compliments?”

Meanwhile, Namgoong-min recalled his experiences of being rejected from numerous auditions, saying, “When I go to auditions, I feel like there’s a 95% chance I’ll be rejected and maybe a 5% chance I might get lucky.” He continued, “Usually, you should get a response within about ten days after an audition. As the tenth day approaches and there’s still no response, I start to think, ‘I guess I didn’t make it,’ and that made me a bit sad.”

Namgoong-min said, “I’ve been cut after script readings. After script readings, you get close during meals, right? Then I got cut. It felt bad to see the others on TV when I couldn’t go out alone,” he lamented. He added, “When I see the actors who have survived until now at award ceremonies, I think, ‘You’re still here too.’”

Yoo Jae-suk, who experienced a long period of being unknown, empathized, saying, “I feel a sense of camaraderie with Namgoong-min.”
