Anchor Kim Su-ji has revealed the rehearsal scene a day before the election for the first time.
On the afternoon of the 14th, MBC's entertainment program ‘The Manager’ (hereinafter ‘The Manager’) featured J-Hope and Anchor Kim Su-ji in turn.
On this day’s broadcast, BTS's J-Hope appeared as the first protagonist of the "manager's perspective." Waking up on the second day of the Bangkok concert, he showcased a sweet and savory eating show with butter, jam, scrambled eggs, and bacon on bread.
Throughout the preparation, he showed a fighting spirit and completed his human-like tooth brushing. His manager reported, “J-Hope has a clear concept of organization. When packing his luggage, he thinks about what clothes to wear. It seems very J-like. That’s why I think he’s J-Hope. I really think he’s a singer who lives up to his name. There’s a level of J, right? Before going to the military, he asked to be informed about any work, and he told me a plan for three years.”
The manager added, “He’s even more planned during concerts. To avoid wasting fans' time, he focuses more on managing his condition. He can predict what he will do. He will wake up around 9 AM, have a meal, drink bellflower tea, and go to the gym at 10:30 AM.”
The manager, who is a former military officer, said, “I’m also J,” showing a sharp focus just like J-Hope.
After exercising, J-Hope headed to the concert venue and filled up with Korean and Thai food. With his power J-type manager timing everything, he completed all preparations 20 minutes before the performance and consumed honey from his parents’ beehive.
Lost in thought, he said, “You know, originally, when we performed with seven members, we would all sit together and discuss what we would do, but now I’m alone,” expressing his longing for the members.
Taking the stage alone, he delivered an explosive performance as if he had never been nervous.

The second protagonist of the "manager's perspective" was Anchor Kim Su-ji. Her husband, singer Han Ki-joo, created a warm atmosphere by preparing breakfast for Kim Su-ji. Kim Su-ji's manager and senior anchor Jeon Jong-hwan shared, “With the election phase approaching, I also moderated the debate for the presidential candidates. It has been a really hectic six months,” conveying the chaotic recent situation.
Upon arriving at the company, Kim Su-ji sought advice from anchor Jeon Jong-hwan ahead of the election broadcast.
Subsequently, the final rehearsal of the election broadcast, which was a hot topic, was revealed for the first time. Jeon Jong-hwan explained, “Since it’s the day before the election, it’s a final check day to ensure everything is the same.” He added, “Six months ago, the election broadcasting team was formed, but this time we couldn’t do that. As the election approaches, the number of personnel dispatched as the broadcasting team increases. More than 100 people prepare for the broadcast.”
The rehearsal began by connecting six LED screens to show a single image, and Kim Su-ji meticulously checked the movement with anchor Jo Hyun-yong.
After finishing the rehearsal, Kim Su-ji stopped by the newsroom, participated in a meeting, and moved for the outdoor live broadcast of the news desk. Upon arriving at the MBC studio in front of the National Assembly, they showed a meticulous attitude by perfectly timing the opening shoot.
In the control room, it was said that there were many people, which could cause the connection with reporters to be cut off, but the first connection was made smoothly. However, the second reporter connection was cut off, and Kim Su-ji quickly wrote something and said, “I apologize for the unstable connection,” maintaining her composure despite unexpected variables, which impressed the panel.
Even in the hectic outdoor broadcast, Kim Su-ji completed the broadcast with a professional spirit.
‘The Manager’ airs every Saturday at 11:10 PM on MBC.
