Comedian Jo Hye-ryun introduced Yoo Jae-suk as the assistant of the group Mechanism.
On the 12th, KBS2’s ‘Problematic Children in the Rooftop Room’ featured guests Jo Hye-ryun, Shin Jae-pyeong, and Lee Jang-won.
On that day, Jo Hye-ryun talked about the formation of the group Mechanism with Peppertones, saying, “Last year, there was a YouTube ‘Excuse’ awards ceremony. At that time, Peppertones was sitting next to me. Yoo Jae-suk, who recently directed the play ‘I Love You, Mom,’ asked me, ‘How did you come to direct?’ I replied, ‘I know Mechanism because I played the role of a mother five years ago,’ and he laughed. Since Peppertones has a high level of education, they asked, ‘Is Mechanism wrong?’ Lee Jang-won answered, ‘That’s correct.’”
She continued, “As the conversation flowed, I asked Yoo Jae-suk, ‘Why can’t I sing?’ Yoo Jae-suk suggested, ‘Try to release a song with Peppertones as Mechanism.’ That’s how it was created.”
Yoo Jae-suk supported by directing Mechanism. Shin Jae-pyeong explained, “The three of us are co-producers. Yoo Jae-suk brought us together.” Jo Hye-ryun drew attention by saying, “We decided on a name, and it’s Assistant. Yoo Jae-suk came to direct when we were shooting the music video.”
