Actress Jo Bo-ah (34), who is enjoying her newlywed life, expressed her affection for her husband.
Director Kim Hong-sun, known for directing the Netflix series 'Money Heist: Korea - Joint Economic Area', the occult drama 'The Guest', and the fresh series 'Voice', has teamed up with writer Kim Jin-ah from Apple TV+ thriller 'Dr. Brain'.
Lee Jae-wook plays Hong-rang, the son of the upper class who returns after 12 years, while Jo Bo-ah plays his sister Jae-i, who suspects Hong-rang is a fake. Jung Ga-ram takes on the role of the adopted son Mu-jin of the Min-sangdan, and Um Ji-won plays the mistress Min Yeon-hee of the Min-sangdan, with Park Byung-eun portraying the head of the Min-sangdan, Shim Yeol-guk.
'Tangeum' is Jo Bo-ah's first comeback project after her marriage. She had a private wedding with her non-celebrity boyfriend in October last year.
Regarding this, Jo Bo-ah said, "Single Jo Bo-ah filmed this, and now I’m revealing it as a married woman. They say a new chapter in life begins. Maybe that's why it feels like baby Jo Bo-ah is appearing, and it feels like a distant story. I watched it alone at first, and then with my husband."
When asked about her husband's reaction to the melodrama scenes, she shyly smiled and said, "Since it's my job, he understands."
Jo Bo-ah also shared her thoughts on the changes after marriage, saying, "I feel a sense of stability. My parents created a harmonious family, and I want to live like that too."
When questions about her husband arose, she expressed her affection, saying, "In my eyes, he is so handsome. I feel he’s too good for me."
After getting married, Jo Bo-ah postponed her honeymoon to focus on filming the Disney+ series 'Knock Off'. Originally, 'Knock Off' was scheduled to be released this year, but the release was delayed due to another lead actor Kim Soo-hyun's personal controversy.
Jo Bo-ah cautiously stated, "I’m careful. I feel like my words could hurt someone, so I want to hold back. It’s a project that everyone has prepared for a long time, and it’s filled with affection. I believe that someday our efforts will be recognized and there will be good results."
Reflecting on her 13 years since her debut, she said, "Not long ago, fans gifted me a doll of my character. Including the SBS variety show 'Grocery Restaurant', there were 19 of them. I feel proud of that. I think I’ve been running for 13 years without losing my original intention, and I want to praise myself for that. There are times when I feel tired and exhausted, but I’ve tried to keep getting back up."
When asked about a work that became a turning point for her, she pointed to 'Tangeum'.
Jo Bo-ah said, "I personally think the character Jae-i in 'Tangeum' is a turning point for me. I have a lot of affection for her, and she was a character I loved a lot. I never felt tired while working on this project. Although there was a lot of travel time, which made me physically tired, I enjoyed filming. When I arrived on set and changed clothes, I felt emotionally like I was flying. It was a project and character that I wanted to do well and found very enjoyable."
She added, "In my 20s, I had a lot of ambition. I used to whip myself for not being able to keep up with that ambition. Now that I’m in my 30s, I’m trying to step back a little and look at things from a distance. I want to go forward without being overly ambitious and with a bit of ease."
