Actress Jeon Do-yeon won the Best Actress award in the film category at the Baeksang Arts Awards.

The 61st Baeksang Arts Awards took place on the evening of the 5th at COEX in Gangnam, Seoul. The awards recognize the best works and actors in the fields of television, film, and theater for the first half of 2024 and 2025. The event was hosted by broadcaster Shin Dong-yeop, actress and singer Suzy, and actor Park Bo-gum.

On this day, Jeon Do-yeon received the Best Actress award for her role in the film ‘Revolver’.

‘Revolver’ tells the story of a former police officer who enters prison taking on all the blame and, after being released, heads straight towards a single goal. It highlights ‘Soo-young’ (Jeon Do-yeon) as she struggles to obtain money and an apartment as compensation for her unjust imprisonment.

Jeon Do-yeon expressed her gratitude, saying, “This was a project created when both the director and I had little work. The director said that finding a new face for Jeon Do-yeon was the goal. I feel that has shone through, and I am grateful. I thank all the staff who were with me in every moment.” She added, “Above all, I am very thankful to the audience. I look forward to the day we meet in theaters with a good work.”

The Baeksang Arts Awards is a comprehensive arts award established in 1965 to promote the development of Korean popular culture and arts and to boost the morale of artists, awarding the production teams and performers in the fields of TV, film, and theater that have been aired or screened over the past year.

The theme of this year's Baeksang Arts Awards is ‘Towards, Sailing’. It embodies the meaning of supporting the development and journey of popular culture and arts moving beyond Korea to the world.
