Actress Noh Yoon-seo won the Best New Actress Award in the film category at the ‘Baeksang Arts Awards’.
The 61st Baeksang Arts Awards took place on the evening of the 5th at COEX in Gangnam, Seoul. The awards recognize the best works and actors in the TV, film, and theater categories for the first half of 2024 and 2025. The event was hosted by broadcaster Shin Dong-yeop, actress and singer Suzy, and actor Park Bo-gum.
On this day, Noh Yoon-seo received the Best New Actress Award. She proved her acting skills by playing the role of ‘Summer’ in the film ‘Cheongseol’. The film tells a unique love story communicated through sign language.
Noh Yoon-seo introduced herself in sign language, fitting the film's characteristics, and said, “This was my first time meeting the audience for a long time through a stage greeting in a theater. What I remember most is when the audience held our hands and said with teary eyes that they enjoyed the film and thanked us for making such a movie. I felt a lot of emotions at that moment. I realized once again the direction of this work and what kind of mindset I should have in approaching this work.”
She continued, “I would like to thank the sign language instructors who helped me to use the wonderful language of sign language as an asset. Thank you to everyone who watched and enjoyed our film. Above all, I am grateful to everyone who worked hard until the film's release.”
The Baeksang Arts Awards is a comprehensive arts award established in 1965 to promote the development of Korean popular culture and arts and to boost the morale of artists, awarding the production teams and performers in the TV, film, and theater categories that aired or were screened over the past year.
