Lee Chan-won from ‘Pyeon Restaurant’ won with his Dogani Yukgaejang, achieving 8 Chan-won.

On the broadcast of KBS2’s ‘New Menu Launch Pyeon Restaurant’ (hereafter ‘Pyeon Restaurant’) on the 2nd, the results of the soup menu competition featuring MZ Grandma Lee Chan-won, global sensation Nam Yoon-soo, and Michelin Guide’s Gi Eun-se were revealed. The three chefs, showcasing impressive skills, engaged in a live cooking competition in the studio filled with unprecedented tension, and the honor of winning and launching went to Lee Chan-won’s Dogani Yukgaejang. Lee Chan-won once again proved he is a genius in launching dishes on ‘Pyeon Restaurant’.

In the ‘Pyeon Restaurant’ studio, cooking spaces were set up for the three chefs. Lee Chan-won, Nam Yoon-soo, and Gi Eun-se each prepared their final ‘soup dish’ menu. As it was their first live cooking competition, the tension among the chefs soared. Consequently, the chefs playfully tried to outdo each other. Lee Chan-won, who is usually relaxed, showed a rare moment of nervousness, which brought laughter.

Lee Chan-won’s final menu was Dogani Yukgaejang. He created a deep flavor in the broth using dogani boiled for over five hours and beef tallow. He then used the beef tallow again to complete a spicy seasoning sauce, adding stir-fried bean sprouts to finish the Dogani Yukgaejang. His impressive knife skills while making Dogani Yukgaejang made him resemble a grandson at a traditional soup restaurant, which caused laughter.

Nam Yoon-soo presented a clean and refreshing hangover cream pasta called ‘Kkek Pasta’, flavored with his homemade special mushroom pesto and clam broth. He even showcased a fire performance on the spot, capturing attention. Gi Eun-se created an Italian-style Gopchang Jeongol, combining Korean gopchang stew with Italian flavors. Gi Eun-se made homemade butter on-site, firmly establishing her presence as a chef.

The victory went to Lee Chan-won’s Dogani Yukgaejang. Chef Park Jun-woo, who served as a menu evaluator, praised it, saying, “It’s so delicious that I don’t know what to say,” and Chef Jung Ho-young proved its top-notch taste with a storm of eating. With this, Lee Chan-won, who achieved 8 Chan-won, expressed, “Today’s victory feels more valuable and special. I feel overwhelmed, just like when I received a big award at any other ceremony.”

In this episode, Nam Yoon-soo and Gi Eun-se shared their honest feelings. Six months ago, Nam Yoon-soo donated a kidney to his father and expressed his love for the first time by saying, “I love you.” He shared, “I feel that I need to take better care of my parents and live the rest of my life with them.”

Gi Eun-se mentioned her respected senior Jeon In-hwa, saying, “When I got divorced, my mom said it was all okay,” and added, “I spent my entire 20s dreaming of being an actor, but I had no recognized works. I thought about quitting and got married, but I didn’t expect to return to work. Now that I’m back, I have a strong desire to work.” Jeon In-hwa, who understands her feelings well, praised Gi Eun-se’s growth and changes in her recent works.
