Broadcaster Seo Jang-hoon responded to the suggestion that his show is similar to ‘Billion Won Breakfast’ by saying, “The essence is different.”
On the 8th, a press conference for the EBS and E Channel entertainment program ‘Seo Jang-hoon’s Neighbor Millionaire’ was held at the Press Center in Jung-gu, Seoul. Seo Jang-hoon, Jonathan, PD Kim Min-ji, and PD Park So-hyun were present at the event.
‘Seo Jang-hoon’s Neighbor Millionaire’ (hereafter ‘Neighbor Millionaire’), which will premiere on the 9th at 9:55 PM, is a program where the 2 trillion won giant Seo Jang-hoon visits ‘real rich people’ who have built their wealth and success to explore their secrets.
Currently, in the tvN entertainment program ‘Billion Won Breakfast’ hosted by Dr. Oh Eun-young, the show also visits the homes of the wealthy to hear about their lives. At first glance, the descriptions may seem similar, but are there any distinguishing features from other programs?
In response, PD Kim Min-ji said, “We receive a lot of questions related to ‘Billion Won Breakfast’. I think it’s good news that there are more programs dealing with successful adults in legacy media, as it shows successful adults in society.”
She continued, “Our program features Seo Jang-hoon, who has a surprising charm. He often engages in programs like ‘Ask Us Anything’ and ‘Divorce Counseling Camp’ that penetrate the heart. He asks direct and cold questions with sincerity and consideration to open up hearts. The natural flow of conversation, rather than a formal interview or talk format, is a virtue of the program,” highlighting Seo Jang-hoon as a key asset of the show.
PD Kim also added, “EBS is a broadcasting station strong in documentaries. What we consider most important is to handle a human being with in-depth and dense research. It’s not just about having a conversation; we will explore what kind of life they live and what they ponder, allowing viewers to see the individual’s biography from multiple angles,” stating that it will be clear that this is a completely different program.
Seo Jang-hoon mentioned, “I first received the offer to appear in mid-September last year,” and added, “At that time, I didn’t even know if that program was happening. I usually try to avoid participating in programs that are similar to past ones.” He explained, “I don’t know what kind of programs are being prepared until they come out. So, I want to clarify that I received the offer in September last year without knowing about the production of ‘Billion Won Breakfast’.”
Seo Jang-hoon expressed confidence in his program, saying, “That program is also very good and excellent. However, when you see it directly, you will realize that the essence is different. The people appearing are different.”
